Do you mean the orange jewel weed? I think I have a packet of yellow jewel weed but I could always get more of the orange if that is what you are looking for. Send me an email if that's what you are looking for.

I have had ornamental Jewelweed here for about 15 years. It is very invasive but is quite atractive if you have the right spot for it. I planted it out back of our old drive shed between the building and a gravel laneway. It is on the north side and grows at least 8-10 feet tall in almost full shade. You can't get your hand around many of the stems. It hides our fuel tank and my husbands shelf of old scrap iron so it serves a purpose here. It did spread somewhat more last year but it is very easy to pull out when small. The lawn mower gets rid of what grows in the grass although I don't remember much ever growing there and the rototiller gets rid of some in an old garden I have behind the shed. It is cool looking and I haven't tired of it yet. But you do need the right spot and a big one at that!

I have these growing like crazy in moist shade to almost full sun. Since they are native (assuming USA), they can't be "invasive" but they are truly aggressive. If you have the right conditions, they will spread like crazy. I decided this year to pull the seedlings out of a huge area to make way for other plants. I probably pulled out 1000 of these things. I'll leave them in the woods by probably have to pull out a few hundred a year to keep my garden clear. Not to worry, I don't plan to erradicate them and they are so prolific, if I ever want them back, I'll just stop pulling and with in a few years, the migrate back. The orange flowers are cute but small but they are tall and the vegetation is not all that attractive. I wouldn't grow these anywhere are purpose unless I had acres of land and didn't my huge areas of part-shade taken over by these. -l2t

I have always had many, many guests: professional friends who may stay across a weekend, university students who come for a meal, or, in times past, lived at my house. I have pretty things, and I have taught dozens of young women how to take care of porcelain, crystal and silver (no, don't scrub it with a scrubbing pad...). Almost all people are respectful of other people's things and if I see something I don't like going on, I feel very comfortable telling them to cease and desist. If someone's children decide to bounce on the sofa, I just scoop them up and put them somewhere else. The biggest problem for those of us with old furniture that doesn't have bulletproof finishes is water marks. I have to patrol a little bit at a party to make sure people are using coasters and not leaving wet marks on the tables. Same goes for house guests: " make sure you don't put your wet towels on the back of wooden chairs--use this rack instead." I found the comment about books being somewhat private to be the oddest of the odd....I'm of the other persuasion. People with big book cabinets filled with a cookbook or two and a lot of "filler" are weird to me--with the obvious implication that the owners are among of the college-educated persons who, upon graduation, never read another book. What's the percentage? I forgot, but something very high, like 75%.
