I dont have really any native hardy orchids except for bletilla striata, and bletilla striata alba....I do have a multitude of other plants..near five hundred so if you arent so limited to hardy orchids Id love to make the orchis part of my collectin mike

Does Carl's book have photos of the native Orchids? Your plant may not be a local native species, Since all Orchid seed are dust-like, it could have arrived as a hitch-hiker with another plant and found the ideal conditions to germinate. tat was just small patch. there were a few that I noticed had leaves 3 maybe 4 inchs wide. none had more than 2 leaves but this time of year its expected. the texture was almost cardboard like. There were seed pods but I forgot to take a pic. reminded me alot of a hosta seed bract but the pods themselves came to a point and were very round.
