Need Help with my seedlings.....information please

Today I took 5 trays of 72 daylilies to the greenhouse. I finally got tired of them in the house. The seedlings are only about 7-9 inches tall. I've had the fan blowing on low on them for the past week and it didn't seem to bother them. I was trying to get them use to the wind. LOL

I need to know if they are going to be ok in the greenhouse at night when it gets down in the upper 40's. Most of the time it will be in the 50's or 60's at night in there.

I would also like to know when I can plant them directly in the ground. All help will be greatly appreciated. Some of these seeds I paid alot for and some were very reasonable. Nevertheless I don't want to lose a bunch of them from my rush to get them out of the house and in the ground.

We live in Zone 7B in the Piney Woods of East Texas where it gets nice and hot.

They should do fine in the greenhouse. I would plant them outside if the beds are prepared for them and you are at or beyond your last frost date. See the link below for your last frost date for your particular area.

I am in Georgia where it also gets nice and hot. I am planting mine out as we speak. I have prepared beds and had put about 1/3 of my seedling in the greenhouse several weeks ago to give them a taste of temperature variance. On Sunday, I transplanted 135 seedlings into the beds. I did opt to trim the fans per suggestions on this forum. While they are adjusting, I don't want them to struggle to hold up 10 or so inches of leaf. The rest will leave the house this afternoon after work and reside in the greenhouse until they can get planted out. This has been my best year for seedling survival by far. When it is all said and done, I think I will have about 1500. I'll post of picture of the new residents if I can get out there before dark tonight.

Thanks so much for the offers of help. It is a difficult space to work with and all the "wants" I have. Right now there is a large dining table and chairs which are very much in the way due to its size. They will be moved into the new dining room. The 36" measurement between the island and the window wall does take into account chairs. I should have indicated that in the drawing. A movable work table would probably work best here. This is why I am coming to you guys for advice!

@ginatay124 I completely agree about the pillows. There is a throw in the basket under the coffee table, but it’s an ehhh one. The coffee table is fairly new but I did buy it used to refinish the top. I have a qt. of Urbane Bronze and I need to sand and paint it. Previously we had an upholstered ottoman. It is now downstairs because of water cups spilling on it, etc. Our daughter is 8 so this is just easier for now. Floor lamp is a definite yes but clueless there. My husband has said repeatedly we need one, but i don’t know what style goes and does’t look like an afterthought. Any ideas? We also will need new curtains because those are off white/beige. But I’ll buy white ones unless someone here says emphatically no 😜

You asked about landscape color and whether to add a trellis. I don't know why people feel compelled to critique your home and suggest structural changes. It's a charming home and as functionthelook said, ignore suggestions to turn it into something cookie cutter. You don't have to defend the choice of the front door to anyone. Sheesh! You can bring in so much color simply by using plants with different color foliage...you don't need flowers, esp in the winter. Maybe reconsider some of the boxwoods. They are getting a bit crowded and, while the green is nice, I think you can do better. I might consider, instead of a trellis, reworking that line of boxwood by the truck and plant a tree that would add some color and interest year round. Maybe like a coral bark maple that has nice foliage 3 seasons and beautiful bark and twigs in the winter. I don't know if they grow in your are, but something similar surely does. It's hard to tell from the pics if that's far enough from your house for a small tree or not, but a pro landscaper could help with that. I'm not suggesting this style landscaping, just showing how much color you can get with foliage alone and a few flowering shrubs mixed in. There are winter flowering shrubs, too, tho again I don't know about your area. coral bark maples...

Well heavy dripping isnt a good thing, but, the stipple from the rollers is normal. You do not have to sand between coats of paint. What do you mean by roller marks, other than the normal stippling, that happens when you use a roller. Are they using rollers meant for smooth walls, that gives less stippling. Rollers should not be the cheap type either, get the very best rollers. Did they primer the walls, wondering why its taking 3 coats of paint. New paint has good coverage, and 2 coats should be enough. I would never do less than 2 coats.

Regarding your quesion on seedlings. Here in Ohio I plant my seeds around March 1---I can safely plant them out in the garden by the first week of May. Usually, when they are up a couple of inches I set them outside in full sun to harden off. I have had snow on them, frost to 28 degrees, and while that nips the ends of the leaves, I haven't lost a single seedling. I remember the first year I let snow sit on them, I was scared I would lose them all, heck they looked better than ever. They are perennials, so they have the capability of surviving below freezing.
