I have some daylilies coming and of course I am not ready ahhhhh I say I am not doing this every year.

I got my first box from Dan Hansen on this past Friday 3/28 and my Marietta's order came today. Thankfully there was a break in this warm spring rain, perfect for planting!

Marietta's:

The DL in front is a Mystery trade I got last year (see how good it's doing Barb??), and the one in back is SEA SIREN from Hansen's.

I live on the the railroad track which is a hillside with rocks and tall grass/weeds. The previous owners fed the birds. When we moved here we killed 3 rats in our yard in daylight that were feeding in the site of the feeder. Will the town really do anything? I have one neighbor that feeds the birds on the ground rather then in a feeder even with a feeder the spilled seed is a problem. I could send them a photo but I suspect they will tell me it is my problem or LIRR which is private property.

They may be better off planted in the ground than in the house. Roses hate being inside and will likely die. The other thing you could do is pot them and then sink those pots in the ground deeply in the most protected place in your yard.

Kiktx, it is not rude to ask that at all. I will probably change my seating orientation around at some point. But the reason I put it that way for now is that wall behind the couch looks really bad as it is still unfinished. That picture I posted above was actually taken before we added the windows. Those were just screens behind the couch! The original house is single wall construction and the only windows were a couple jalousie type in the bathrooms. That's what they call a 'coffee shack' here. Plus, we always hang out on the lanai whenever we want to enjoy the views. Only time we are inside sitting on the couch is after it's dark anyways. :-) Thanks again everyone for all your help. Once I get the sample tiles, I will ask for advice on which looks the best.

The most common Pothos, Golden Pothos. It needs a hair cut too. Marble Queen Silver Pothos also needs a hair cut. Neon Pothos Philo Brasil or Brazil or Philodendron scandens medio pictum whichever you want to call it by. and more "Glacier" waiting until it warms up to go in its new pot.

I have been lucky so far to keep them staggered. I got two orders last week, one so far this week.. with the mega order probably coming next week..that onw will be about 70 plants!! Any volunteers to help with the planting??? making tags each evening while watching TV.. the raised beds are ready.. now just add some sunshine and all will be right with my daylily world!

I've been getting shipments for a couple of weeks now, but only a few in each shipment. I don't have any really big shipments coming this year, thank goodness.
You know you've got quite a few coming from me on May 10th at the swap....you better get those beds ready, girl!! LOL

Looking good Michelle.

I only have 6 new daylilies for this spring but did get two new ones from a friend :)

One I washed all the clay dirt off and just stuck it in potting soil for now. I have done this many times last summer when I had many orders and couldn't keep up. I left them in a big box of potting soil for two weeks till I was able to get them in the ground or potted up right.

I just don't water them much when I do this and if it's hot I keep them in shade.

OH Good news I got me some donkey poo for my daylilies YEAH...... I ate donkey poo for dinner too yuck...as I was spreading it around it was blowing all over the place. Poo n hay mix is very dry plus wind ='s poo all over.

I'm thinking this is going to be my best year for gardening since I started 4 years ago and it's killing me having to wait to see everything in bloom LOL..... You all might see me posting pix of buds when they start LOL.......

Hi Jill, I have another month before shipments start coming in. I still have snow on the ground. On the weekend I spread Urea on my beds. It should give the foliage a jumpstart.

I started on the new bed but have to go get some more soil. I will also get my ladybugs tommorrow. Aphids are awful this year so they will have a feast to eat on. Water just isnt doing the trick.

Jill, I got a shipment of 22 in today from a friend in south AL that I trade with, mostly Munsons. They may have to go into pots till I can make room for them! :) Are we having fun yet? LOL I love spring and digging in the dirt, etc. Just makes you feel alive....especially when every muscle in your body screams when you try to get out of bed the morning after a full day of gardening!!!! :)

Jill - I got my first four Monday and had to pot them up because it's been to rainy to dig. But after a two-drought the rain is a good thing. I'm never when mine arrive. In fact I still have about 70 in pots from last year. Yours are looking good in the ground.

Got my 1st shipment on Thurs. of last week, got 'em in the ground on Sun.

The next one was shipped yesterday, so I'll be hard at it again this w/e.

No scapes here yet, but they're coming, I'm expecting to see some any day now, and of course, I'm checking daily!

Spring has definitely sprung and not a moment too soon, W00T!
