Hi Everyone!!!!!!!!!!! ok, I just set a personal record, I have managed to get here to the forum 2 times in 3 days, wow!!! (grins) Hope everyone had a lovely Easter that was filled with love, laughter, family and friends. They somehow manage to get into all kinds of trouble when we aren't around. What is that all about anyways? We have so got to get together this summer. I know we talked about it before, then my life went off to Jupiter. But, we are back on earth now, so we really need to make plans to meet. Maybe we could meet halfway, and go to lunch, or plan a picnic or something. (and maybe a small sidetrip to a nursery, grins) We had a great Easter. DD and I worked on Alex new bedroom. Cleaned it out, painted all the walls. She will finish up the trim today. Then we will be putting the furniture in. We are making the bed, it will be built in, with "walls", so it will kinda look like you are going in a door to get into it. Drawers underneath for storage. A small desk with lots of shelves on both sides and recessed lights over it for when he is older, so he can draw, paint, do homework. Also, a built in closet. Right now it will be decorated with Scooby Doo, cause he really loves him, but we have been buying "sports" themed things for later on. We were lucky and found a super cute ceiling light with sports balls around the outside of the glass, too cute. All of our other grandchildren will be over tonight for dinner and to get their Easter baskets. We make all the childrens baskets out of new large bath towels wrapped around a large strip of cardboard, then we fill them with goodies. It is a great alternative to baskets, cause they always wanted to take them home and never remembered to bring them back, so they were really piling up. And, the towels are way more useful. We just make sure to buy them in each kids favorite color, and...

We're glad you're back in the Land of Daylilies. You know it's kind of like the Land of Oz only better. My internet wouldn't come on last night and when I called tech they said it sounds like spyware but wasn't. This morning I called back and he said it's on his end so I got him to help me set up a dial-up connection. It always goes out on the weekend when I have more time to use it. Does it happen that way with ya'll? Lucky me, I got the sweetest Mother's day card from my DS and DIL that says Love is knowing the one you care about most is also your BEST FRIEND. WOW! Nothing could be a nicer compliment than that especially since it's my DH's son although he couldn't be closer to me if he were my own blood. He's been mine for 23 years and I'm very proud of that! This was the first airplane trip for my boys... they were pretty excited: We flew to Denver and drove down to Colorado Springs. The next day we made our way to Cripple Creek, a gold mining town: We went on a tour of one of the mines that took us down 1,000 feet below ground surface into a mine shaft: We had to visit the local railroad: Next we went to Royal Gorge Park which features the world's highest suspended bridge: It was very windy and pretty darn scary walking and driving across the bridge. The park also has an inclined railroad that takes you down to the canyon bottom: A view of the bridge from the bottom: They also have the world's longest single span aerial tram across the gorge... scary: Next day we visited Garden of the Gods with awesome rock formations: This one's called Kissing Camels: Balanced Rock: Here's the Garden of the Gods in the foreground with Pikes Peak in the background... that's where we're headed next. Here's a reservoir on the way up with Pikes Peak in the background. This is the second most visited mountain in the world. At 14,110 feet above sea level, it's a long ways up there. It was in the 90's at the bottom and 45 degrees at the top. Here we are at the peak: There's still some snow left up there: Of course the view was spectacular. They say this view inspired the song "America the Beautiful": We made our way down, drove to Denver, and went to a Colorado Rockie's baseball game: Next day we had some time before our flight, so we went to Dinosaur Ridge in Morrison... cool dinosaur bone fossils and footprints along a road cut: And we visited the famous Red Rocks Amphtheater: Hope that was enjoyable.
