Mary, I missed your post about coming this way. I would have loved to have come out that way. Cleveland isn't the easiest place to navigate though. I am kinda chicken of the big cities. :) Wish I was a little closer. I am going to go to Cindy's sometime in June, have to get with her again on that but maybe just maybe we could all pile on at her house. LOL Just kidding Cindy. :)

I really want to stick around and gab and show off my new plants, but I am putting on a presentation at our local elementary school early this afternoon and I have to finish up my preparations. My sister is coming along to help. She is good friends with the teacher and mentioned I was a PSU Master Gardener. The teacher thought it would be nice if we could do something special for Mother's Day. I have planned a presentation on Marigolds. They will learn all about them, get to plant seeds, make a cute plant marker, and also get a live, blooming Marigold to take home to Mom. Should be really fun! Oh, and of course I will be mentioning how much birds love to eat the Marigold seeds. : )

Marea, I have the Lithodora! How do you capture the awesome shocking blue flowers? Mine always come out light blue. I had it planted with red and yellow Portulaca last year and it was a stunning display. This year I stuck it in the ground. It bloomed all season for me.

Thanks for all of the birthday wishes, they are making it my way. :) I have just had the greatest day ever. My sons preschool had tea time today for the moms for mothers day and it was just awesome. I criedd my eyes out. What a special day.

Hi guys been very very busy, in about two weeks, I should slow down a bit.

I am happy to say our Local Club made over $1800 on our plant sale last weekend, It was great, we had a lot of stuff left over too. Mostly it was really common stuff.

Ok I for my box I never got around to posting about. Well it was HUGE. It was the box 10 reams of paper comes in!! I received a lot of the heavy duty metal plant markers, two Hardy Geraniums full size plants- binkovo and Kavina (sp). Now the daylilys, there were HUGE, Huge I tell you. I know one must have had a dozen fans. They were all huge clumps. I know one was Casting the Runes, Viacocha and Don't kill me Cindy I made the plant tags with my 12 that came in and I couldn't remember which came from you, I made a list and can't find it! so Sorry. I also received 3 kinds of M&M's. I still can't get over the size of the box and plants.

Cindy your box should have been here today. I hope your weather holds out so you can get the stuff planted.

Well I have work to do as usual!

Oh one more funny!!!! I was on the riding mower tonight and my little guy was riding around in his jeep. I saw him get out and go up to the door. The next pass I look over and he has his pants down. The next pass he still has his pants down. So I get off and go over and he had pooped on the step! Yep he POOPED on the step. He was knocking on the door and his brother wouldn't let him in. So at least he didn't go in his pants. LOL We have been accident free for 3 weeks!!!!!!!

Hi Dear Friends,

I'll update you about my DH. He had double by-pass 4/26, shortly after he developed atrial fib (irregular heart rhythms). Medication was tried but didn't work. His heart was beating rapidly but the top part (the atrium) was just quivering and was not pumping the blood. The doc decided that he needed cardioversion (a procedure where the heart is shocked) same thing you see on tv when someone's heart stops and they put the paddles on the chest and shock the heart into restarting. The first shock put the heart back in rhythm for about 10 beats and then it went back out of rhythm. He said he shocked the heart a second time "with everything" he had but there was no change. Three injections in the tummy with blood thinners along with oral meds for thinning the blood, along with 2 heart meds. No change... The next day, the heart went back into rhythm on its own. We were told it could just as suddenly get out of rhythm again. Alot more happened but I can't type all that now. He's home and getting stronger everyday. We're having to make alot of life changes but the important thing is, he's alive and stands a better chance of living to a ripe old age.

I want to thank all of you who have kept us in your thoughts and prayers. It has been an ordeal but knowing that you have family and friends supporting you really helps.

Jean...I'm glad you liked your box. The heucherra is a "Ruby Bells" it has red blooms. I didn't see it on your list, so I hope I sent you something you didn't have. The Snail Vine, also referred to as corkscrew vine, and as a shell vine, was grown from seed. You will need to keep it inside in a sunny area until Wisconsin warms up some. It is only hardy to zone 7 so save your seeds. They sell on e-bay for 3.00 for 5 seeds. I bought 10 seeds and 9 of them germinated (I was really lucky, I've been told they can be difficult to germinate). The pic's I've seen of the flowers are beautiful and they are supposed to be very fragrant also. E-mail me about the other non-labled plant, I'll figure it out for you. Sorry about the 2 unlabled ones. I was the last minute getting the box together before leaving for the hospital.

That is a beautiful place. Seems a far jump from a hospital to breaking horses...lol I do not envy you as I adopted two wild mustanges for my kids years ago and broke them myself after everyone I called to try to get it done would walk away after seeing the biggest one. He was mean to the core but wound up being a sweetheart to the kids. I pond broke him since that was the safest way for both me and him. Finally had to get rid of them and miss them so much. They where so beautiful playing in the pastures.

Ladies and Gentelmen - I have a question...will there be a trade this month? If so does anyone know what kind other than daylilies? I will have spring regionals in 4 weeks so I am going to be busting it to get everything done that has to be done. I would love to get this off to my partner before I get so buried I can not see daylight. I mailed everything today for other trades and have one more to dig Monday.

I think I still owe someone something but I have been so streesed with running out of time on the gardens that I just cant think...not to mention I can not remember anything unless I write it down.

Good morning everyone!

Boy did I have a huge surprise last night! Telephone call from ANITA-NYVOICES! I am like "you're kidding" ...then realized she was not! We gabbed for well over an hour! We both ordered some nicer weather!!!! Yesterday was lovely here so all you folks out east....it is headed your way!

Hopefully Tuesday night was the end for those frigid nights! It was 50 for a low last night.Quite a bit of frost damage on my hostas but dls look OK!

I just cannot seem to post any pictures anymore. Any of you computer Gurus want to try to "talk" me through it again? I would be really grateful!

Anita, the daylilies look very healthy. I still want mine.

Debbie, great news about your DH. They can do a lot about the heart not beating in sync. I am one who has a Bi-Ventricular pacemaker that has made remarkable improvement with it. I don't know if they give that kind to anyone who doesn't have Congestive Heart Failure but if it does so well for me (I have class III and it only goes to Class IV) I work everyday, still garden and do most other things within reason that I could not do 3 years ago before I got it. They can do so much for heart patients that they couldn't before.

Marea, lucky you! I love horses but of course I'm too old and frail (LOL) to try to break one much less two. And certainly too much of a chicken! I know you'll love your new job and such a beautiful environment to work in.

Cathy, I said a prayer for you, Julie and your DH and will keep you all in my heart and prayers. Good luck and may God bless you with adding to Julie's happiness. I hope you can make her forget all the bad stuff from before and only remember the love.

thise daylilys look awsome.. i can tell by the root system and the thickness if the fan.. they are worth it.... they might even throw up another fan when planted!

LONG week at work...dinner for 168 people thursday night and a golf tournament for 130 golfers tomorrow. complete with programs, name tags, seating charts, foursomes oh and 175 gift baskets to be assemebled (the baskets arrived TODAY)only 5 of us in the office. it was a treat but now I can rest!!!!

managed to sneak out for 10 minutes for my sons school annual mothers day plant sale. the hort. students start the plants in sept and sell them from now until they are gone. I got 2 cleomes, 2 black night delphiniums, 2 bright red plants that start with an "a" and are in the same family as a poinsettia, a 4pack of coleus, some purple phlox and 2 martha washington geraniums ..all for $6 yes $6. I wish I could talk them in to growing daylilies.

Tommorow I am off to get my annuals, this is the latest I have ever planted annuals, but it will be 80 tomorrow. I go to the place that sells to the grocery stores so they are a little cheaper but you have to buy a whole flat of the same thing. There quart perennials were only $1.50 last year.

My internet wouldn't come on last night and when I called tech they said it sounds like spyware but wasn't. This morning I called back and he said it's on his end so I got him to help me set up a dial-up connection. It always goes out on the weekend when I have more time to use it. Does it happen that way with ya'll?

Lucky me, I got the sweetest Mother's day card from my DS and DIL that says Love is knowing the one you care about most is also your BEST FRIEND. WOW! Nothing could be a nicer compliment than that especially since it's my DH's son although he couldn't be closer to me if he were my own blood. He's been mine for 23 years and I'm very proud of that!

Sharon, love your yard sale finds, especially the pig. Here's my pig from Good Will I bought a couple of months ago. Great minds think alike since I'm going to put a semp in it too. It's small but I think a little one will work. Just haven't gotten around to it yet.

Jo, I took a picture of my lemon lily bloom but I'll wait to post it when my DSL is back on. Everytime I get ready to copy the photos to photobucket this *#$ dial-up connection goes off.

Gotta go to town with DH. He's buying me a yellow rose bush for Mother's Day but he said I'll have to pick it out. OKAY!
