Comments (1)Since I seldom dissect each bloom ;) the only thing I can think of is it's the dead stamen and carpels. Probably didn't get pollinated. Or some sort of insect. Comments (20)Thank you for your gracious comments regarding the old barn door. We delivered it this weekend and here is a pic of it's location for now. It's at the front of my daughter's farm home. Comments (6)I'm thinking that if the object is actually the stated age, that goo-gone is not going to get rid of the glue residue, because the glue is likely to be hide glue. So water would dissolve that. I think that the ambroid/duco cement types of adhesives were just coming into existence at that time, and they would be dissolved with lacquer thinner.
