Old Barn Door

Here's an old barn door I painted white for my daughter and fixed up with an old freezer wire basket (flea market purchase), a used wreath (I stripped off old dried flowers) and some corkscrew willow branches...then added a mum into a heavy paper/cardboard pot that I recycled from a previous purchase. Then I stuffed some of that purchased mossy stuff (florists use) around the lining from a hanging basket. She can add whatever she wants to it now and it will look great for any season! Those old barn doors are precious..and this one was getting bull-dozed and buried! It was originally painted red. Jeanne

Wow! I love that. It really doesn't need anything else, it's great as it is. You did a very good job on it.

I love your dragonfly! I got dragonfly wind chimes yesterday, I had finished shopping at TS when I started leaving my eye caught the tailend of a dragonfly sticking out. I asked & sure enough only the chimes were tangled. I got them straightened out & it's real sweet sounding. Actually you could make that a wind chime, making a hole at end of each knife & welding little ring in center to hang something down from. Might look more like an airplane tho! Ouch, my heart is HURTING!!! I truly feel your pain!I will honestly get SICK when things like that happen, then I will think about it for days. I know, I'm obsessed!! Gorgeous! Thanks for posting, I now have to add this to my project list since I just got some more and keep forgetting about them(cuz I have to "stash" them out of hubby's sight!) I am hoping I have enough to make another one for myself and one for my BFF. that is great, can do that with old gates also. shoot, gotta tell my mom not to get rid of the barn doors if they fall off or if Uncle knocks down one of them....keep the door and I will fix it up for you Mom....

The old barn door up above is still on our barn/house...but they took all the hardware off it.
I have some hardware I bought at an auction that I wanted my husband to put back on for trim...but he can't do a big tall ladder anymore...

Someday I hope to get someone to put them on for me.

You did a nice job on that...I really like it.

What does she plan on doing with it?

That is pretty neat! Where is she going to place it? You did a great job with that. Those kind of things are getting harder to find. Hope she will take great care of it.

Thank you for your gracious comments regarding the old
barn door. We delivered it this weekend and here is a
pic of it's location for now. It's at the front of my
daughter's farm home. She's started gardening a bit but
also teaches school and has a new baby. So this is where
the door will stay for the winter! Next summer, it may
be moved. Jeanne S.
