Why can't I post a follow-up?

If I try to post a follow-up message to something I've just posted, I get this:

"Message Rejected

You already have a follow-up listed with the same subject. If you didn't see your message listed, you probably need to reload the page."

That's the point, duh...a followup. My message was listed, and yes, I saw it. Insulting and annoying...I'm following up a post. Why is gardenweb so retarded that they don't understand that?

Have you tried changing the subject header? As in, the "Subject of Posting" above where you type your message. I had the same problem once, and I *think* that fixed it.

Yes, for some reason, GardenWeb does not let you reply to your own post unless you change the subject title, as citosa stated. I usually just make a tiny change like adding or removing a period. Very annoying, but pretty easy to get around.

They are very small. I'm stumped. They sting when bitten and itch afterwards but not like I've read about noseeums. Maybe we don't have the same reaction that some people have but we are bitten at least 10 times a day and more if we are out most of the night. I have no idea what else they could be. I did try three times to change the subject of the message and still for some reason was unable to reply to the other post though.

Different servers - note URL. All the forums on the "forums" URL are working. All the ones on "forums2" aren't yet. Given the Red error message posted at the top of each forum, they are aware of the problems. Dave

If you try to submit another post immediately after your first (or previous) post, the system views that next, immediate post as a repeat. In that instance, you will have to change the subject line of your follow-up post. For example, if the subject of the thread is something like: "Why I like kitchens," you may have to change the subject line on your follow-up post to something like: "Another reason why I like kitchens." If there are posts entered by others between your own submissions, you shouldn't have to do this. HTH

All I do is add a hyphen or dash to the end of the subject line and doing that lets me post a reply to my own post.

I change it to, ''Abracadabra, let me post two in a row!'' It works.
