Lemon tree disease?

I live in Houston, Texas and have a young lemon tree. Many of the leaves have begun to shrivel and roll up but not in what I would think of as being a lack of nutrients or water. It started 2-3 months ago and I bleamed it on the excessive heat and UV exposure we were having here in Texas at the time.

Leafminers.. If you do a web search or search this forum, you will find lots of info. The leaf damage is caused by an insect. It is very difficult to control or eliminate the problem if you are in a warm climate. All of my citrus have them...

A systemic might help (Bayer product) but then you couldn't eat the fruit.

I have to just pluck leaves, scrape out worms, spray every few days with FertiLome's Spinosaid product, and learn to live with ugly trees. I've been trying for years to get rid of them. Nothing works well on them..

You don't need to fix it. It will stop on its own when environmental change. The existing spots will remain and will change to "corky" and brown -- that's normal for the process.

Possibly not. Possibly just an old leaf. Hard to say since we can't see your entire tree. Also, we need to know where you live, and your climate, which helps. Patty S.

Those are the little tunnels of an insect called the citrus leaf miner. Believe it or not, an extremely small moth lays eggs just under the epidermis, which hatch into little caterpillars that live and tunnel between the layers of the leaf. Remove affected leaves, if you wish. Apply neem oil spray to discourage egg laying and feeding.
