I'm bigger also. I lose some, gain some, the more I excersize, the more I eat, I haven't been an American Size 12 for years, I think your UK sizes run smaller, so you must be very tiny maybe about a size 8 American, but just guessing. I'm not very tall also, so the weight is all that much more on me. When I was a size 5, people called me Ethiopian, they don't like skinny women in America, most don't anyways. The meat here is fed hormones to make the animals eat more, fatten them up for market, but it is transferred to people as well, they eat more because of the hormones. I can't blame my weight on eating meat because it's my least favorite part of the meal. I like the sugar and don't drink water, big part of calorie intake. It's the eating, lying down afterwards, staying up all night confusing your daily routine, making you eat more thinking it's time for dinner for the next day. Not getting any sleep will throw you off and get you eating in the middle of the night. Once you become bigger, you eat to supply the normal calorie count you are used to, and then you keep gaining. People eat a lot, no doubt, and if they made a concious effort, they could save at least 1/3 of their grocery bill each week if not half. Considering the global economic and supply issues, I wonder why no on in America really cares to make an attempt. I was impressed that Obama, not my favorite or unfavorite person, grew a Whitehouse Garden, Queen Elizabeth II has had one out for the past few years, so even the big wigs are publicly making attempts to encourage Victory type gardens. It would be wise to take a hint, if it's one at all. I researched Victory Gardens and basically they reclaimed unused property, the owners had no say so, for temporary gardens and supplied water at half price to anyone willing to pay for the lot for the year, the price then was something like 5 dollars. It must have been a nice effor though. I've never noticed what size tables though, I'll have to take a look. My dad stands about 6 foot 4 inches, so I see the tables usefull for taller people. Several of my cousins stand 6 foot 5 or more. I'm the runt of my siblings at only near 5 foot 4 inches. We might find research on why the tables are like that somewhere, a restaurant would definitely prefer the hungrier bigger man to a little 110 pound woman. I would imagine someone from Europe would not like American food. An American would feel the same, you guys over there just started to carry cookies and your peanut butter is different. Your pizza parlors sell quiche, I've never had quiche and I love eggs, but I would definitely prefer pizza. America wouldn't know what to do with a supermarket that sold rabbit or goat meat.

Gosh, you could apply that bit of reasoning to anything. Even water in sufficient dosage will kill various organisms (even humans if they consume in sufficient quantity), as will table salt, vinegar, dish soap and caffeine. And all beneficial insects. But no one refers to them as poisons. The term 'poison' implies a toxin with severe implications and is a misleading concept to promote on an organic gardening forum with regards to a fully approved organic pest control. If you are going to throw words around, let's at least use the correct terminology - it is a biopesticide that has limited toxic properties. btw, your misunderstanding of the properties of neem oil could use a bit correcting. Neem oil is a broad spectrum pesticide, but then so is insecticidal soap or horticultural oil, but none of them are entirely non-selective. And if you study the product, neem oil has a great many more benefits than what you narrowly allude to.

In some Calif. counties, the exotic Asian citrus Psyllid is found to be infecting citrus trees, my area is affected. It's moving into other counties. It's very damaging to citrus, but worse it hosts the terminal greening disease--the leaves and fruit look part green part yellow. I wasn't able to see your pictures. On my navel tree, hundreds of mature dried leaves fall off, they're folded looking and have no signs of disease. It has the psyllid, but I'm trying to save it. I pull off all new tender growth that looks terrible. For yellowing problems, try using greensand for a natural magnesium supplement, it helped the yellow go away on mine completely, after a few months last year. Also I give it triple 15 fertilizer, or if you want organic, blood and bone meal with the greensand. Leaves are falling off dry and folded, but weren't yellow. It seemed to help the tree last year when I wet it down, then threw diatomaceous earth over the leaves and any young fruit, this is supposed to kill insects by a mechanical means, not chemical-the insects can't walk on it. It's due for another diatomaceous earth powdering, but I'll wait until no blossoms, so to not harm bees, and when no chance of rain to wash the earth off. I think the Greensand and the D. Earth both helped the psyllid problem. If greening disease is present, the tree is supposed to be cut down and disposed in doubled vinyl bags (like asbestos ceiling popcorn!) I'll add a link about the Asian Citrus Psyllid damage and greening disease. For yellowing issues use Greensand, natural magnsesium. Still, my oranges aren't ripening right, they stay part green and never get sweet. The leaves used to look like the ones shown in the link, but look better now. My 30 y/o lemon tree was destroyed by the Asian Psyllid, I'm taking that tree down--never seen such bad damage to leaves in my life-unbelievable!! Will try to post a picture. Good luck. Hold on, there! ;-) Just remember that horticultural/food grade DE acts as a broad spectrum pesticide. I'd not use it widely outside, where it can come into physical contact with the zillions of beneficial insects that help keep our world in a bit of ecological balance. It must not be applied to plants that are visited by bees and other pollinators, for example. And DE is just as harmful to ladybugs and predatory insects as it is to aphids. The many uses of DE is not a secret and certainly not a well-kept one. It's been used for generations to protect livestock (all kinds, including poultry) from pests and parasites and has been used in agriculture to protect stored grains, flours, nuts, etc. If you eat bread, cereal, peanut butter or anything related, you are likely ingesting DE. It's fed to animals to get rid of internal parasites, and when excreted will still keep the flies (etc.) from mass producing in the dung. It can be found in most 'feed and seed' stores. It's really not the most effective product to deal with most outdoor pest problems as it DOES wash readily away in rain or irrigation, soap or no soap. Though it doesn't dissolve, it loses some physical properties when wet. Be very certain, if you do decide to experiment with DE, that you are NOT using the pool grade product. It is processed in a different manner. Not only is Pool filter DE not effective, but a serious lung hazard as it contains high amounts of crystalline silica. This is what causes silicosis. You must take precautions about inhaling food/horticultural grades of DE, as well. Once settled, it's fine. Best uses? Inside the basement and garage where undesirable critters can lurk in dark nooks and crannies, and in hard to reach locations behind appliances (for example) where pests may hide and reproduce.
