Fungicide and grafting

barbaraincalif

I lost nearly 70% of my Picea pungens ROOTSTOCK to fungus. Hopefully I'll learn by my mistakes...mainly of not venting the grafting enclosure. I did spray with my organic "microbial fungicide" on a regular basis, but THAT obviously didn't work.

Please recommend a product, as well as a schedule, for preventative applications of a fungicide. I'm thinking copper, which is usually quite effective on a broad range of diseases, plus easy to find; but not sure if it is compatible with conifers.

Also, what cultural methods will be beneficial in inhibiting fungus growth in a grafting enclosure?

Greatly appreciate the help!

Barbara
