How long does it take for scale to mature?

I may be winning the war against the soft brown scale that infested my meyer lemon and my minneola. I have sprayed the trees twice with hort oil, once with alcohol, and a handful of times with a fast stream of water -- all of this over a period of 4 weeks. I've searched and searched and all of the large scale are gone. But I do see some tiny, tiny scale along the midribs of some of the leaves. I started swabbing them off with alcohol, but it just got too tedious. I cut off the leaves that had the most of them (the plant will grow new ones). But there are still some left. I've been watching them, curious to see if they might actually be dead. So far I haven't detected any change in their size. Does anyone know how long it takes for a crawler to mature into a full-sized scale? I've searched the net and can't find any information this specific about scale lifecycles. Thought perhaps someone on this forum would know, since many of us have battled them at one time or another.
