Yellowing on Thuja Green Giants - Cause?

Hello All,

I have a row of Thuja Green Giants planted 4 years ago. All have done well since they were planted as 10" seedlings.

I'm very familiar with how these trees brown at the tips over the winter, but they usually recover rather quickly once spring arrives. I'm concerned because mine have browned much more than usual, to the point of being very yellow, and it's not just the tips. It's about the last 10" of the branches.

Towards the trunk, the foliage is much greener, and the yellowing is only a problem on the sunny side of the tree, for the most part. I'm looking for everyone's best guess as to what the likely cause may be. See photos, please, and thanks to all who may reply:
