mandarin with a mind of its own

Help! My 2 yr old mandarin living in a 10gal pot has spent the summer on my patio, on top of an inground planter. It is heavy with fruit just beginning to color-up (already delicious) but I found that the roots have grown through the drainage holes into the inground planter. I initially drilled very large holes in the pot to insure good draining and fed it fish emulsion/miracle gro and epsom salts all season. Has it become a permanent fixture on my patio? Will I stunt it to cut the roots and bring it into the sunroom for the winter? Should I create a giant cloche over it to withstand our few citrus-killing wintry nights (z7b)? Insight, please, Ray.
