Finally, my New Bird Feeder is Finished

While the birds seemed quite happy with the platform, I was not, as I knew the snow would be an issue. So, with only what was laying around the garage, here is my opus:

The roof is plexiglass. I didn't have any large enough pieces of plywood, but I did have the grungy, etched plexi from the old garage people door. So, the birds got a 'sun-roof'!!

OK, I really tried to make this little - I even cropped it. This is one of the 1st customers - a nuthatch, I believe. At the front, which is hard to see in this light, I put a large basket for woodpecker food.

I get nuthatches, slate juncos, lots of chickadees, blue jays. I have noticed a pair of hairy woodpeckers, and today, a pair of mourning doves. I use black oil sunflower seeds, and recently added safflower seeds, in hopes of tempting some cardinals in.

Cheers, Nancy.
