Flying Dragon in the ground

I have a slew of FD's. I first got them to keep as container plants because I thought they were cool looking. Then I got more to use as rootstock for grafting. Now I'm wondering if I can plant one in my yard? Will this citrus survive the winter here (7)? We get quite a few below freezing temps, not a lot of snow and the occasional ice storm. It would be planted in a semi-protected area next to the side of the house which is brick and gets sun until very late in the afternoon. I don't want to have to do anything more than mulch to protect it. Would it do well in that location or should I forget about it?
