Gam, it's normal for some leaves to yellow when a plant is shipped or even moved from one location to another.
There are a few things that trouble me about your Meyers. I notice a few leaves look like they've either been torn or chewed..Could this have happened during transport or did something/body rub up against the foliage?
Another thing is the leaves are wilting. Yellow and wilting leaves can be caused by both over and underwatering. You want the soil to dry between waterings, but not so that leaves wilt.
I also note brown crud on the fruit. Is this soil or some other debris? Toni

Yes some of the leaves are broken. It was like that when I purchased it. I scratched the brown stuff on the fruits. I was able to revome some of it but I belive there is definite scars. Like the one the small yellow fruit. I'll be carefull on the watering.

don't be afraid to remove the fruit to help the plant............a strong plant will grow better fruit in the future! First concern should be for the tree itself. It also looks like that maybe that is the pot and or soil it came in?....Definitely change to a well draining mix like premier pro mix! Good luck

As you only have had this tree for 3 weeks and *IF* the soil in the nursery container is still draining quickly then you really do not need to repot such a small tree for quite some time yet. If and when you do decide to repot your tree, I would transplant it into a CHC (Coconut Husk Chips)/peat moss mixture. There are literally hundreads of posts on this forum written by many different members concerning the use and the MANY BENEFITS of CHC's. Read them. - Millet

Gam, I agree potting is not necessary at this time with winter approaching..Come spring, if roots fill the pot, then perhaps you should up your pot one to two sizes.
If you don't feel the need to use CHC's, a good well-draining mix is fine. All purpose, peat, sand/perlite. You want the soil to drain freely..Overwatering is the number one killer of plants...Good luck,Toni

GAM, your tree is fine until spring/then repot it.Use a good potting soil like Black Gold if you can get it or any sterile soil thats peat/perlite/sand like Tony said.Also when you water it..let the water flow out of the bottom holes,then you know it's watered well.Looks to be a healthy tree, as it ages or it wouldn't be putting out nice sized fruits.Also look for a Citrus Food, to feed your tree several times a year.Whitney Farms puts out a good food called (Citrus/Avacado and Vine)and it's dug into the soil around the dripline of the tree several times a year.And also watch for pests on your tree. I see that you have your Citrus tree in your home...You could set it into the shower to water it and keep the pests off at the same time.Keep your lemon in good light.Good Luck :)***Suzanne

I have always used Whitney Farms,their Citrus/Avacado/vine food is superb!I feed my Citrus (3) times a year.And the fruit size and quality and amount of fruit I get is phenominal.I just sent you (8)pictures of my citrus to your e-mail address.LOL! DEJAVU huh? And also I grow all my citrus in a good sterile soil.And they are all grown in my greenhouse.I do have to say that my Mason Bee's do alott to contribute to the pollination of my tree's.This is why I always get a abundnt amount of fruit.All my citrus is grown in cedar tubs also.I do water (2) times a year with Miracid and thats it for feeding:)***Suzanne

I have 2 compost and ridding the old one..in it's place I was planning on growing veggies in that section next spring, but I'm thinking I'll set my citrus there..One reason is, in the center of this area is a huge butterfly bush..BB's attract butterfly's but this plant is also a lover of bees. Suzanne, tell me how it is possible apply a granular fertilizer by "digging it into the soil around the dripline" when a tree is planted in a container, unless of course the container is huge, and the tree is small. The drip line on all of my containerized trees are way, way beyond the edges of the container. Also to feed your tree only two times a year with a 7-4-2 fertilizer is not giving much nutrients. The recomended fertilizer applications, even for trees grown outside in the ground is up to 6 times a year. Containerized trees require much more than trees grown in the soil because of the constant leaching when watering containers. I have heard, of course, of Whitney Farms. They are owned by the Rod McLellan Company, which is a California based Company. The Rod McLellan Company is a customer of ours. I, myself, have never use there fertilizers, as all of their fertilizer products are orgainic fertilizers and I am not an organic user. I most certainly have nothing against organic growing in any way, I just prefer to use conventional fertilizers. The actual reason for fully watering containers untill water comes out the bottom is to leach out any soluble salts from building up in the "soil." However your reasoning certainly is true, that it is a way to make sure of a complete watering. - Take Care and happy growing. - Millet

Large cedar containers and (3) feedings a year old Pal ,not two! Suzanne, as the containers your trees are growing in are made out of cedar, did you make them yourself? How wide and deep are they? - Millet

I have a friend that owns a cedar shake mill,and he made them for me.They are also banded and the dimensions are 2' 1/2 x 2' deep.They will eventually have to be replaced,and I do alittle pruning on my citrus to keep them in bounds.He is also willing to make me more when and if the time comes.He will not make them for anyone else. He does cedar shake roofs.It's nice to have friends like this.Wood pots are very expensive if you can find them that is:) ***Suzanne

I wanted to ask you..have you ever used non-organic fertilizer on your citrus/tropicals?
Your trees look so healthy, maybe next year I'll go the organic way, too.
I've mentioned in other forums, when I grow veggies like tomatoes/green peppers, I never use chemicals including fertilizers. The only thing I add is decomposed materials from my compost and that works just fine. So, the same applies to citrus. Next year when I order citrus food I'll check out the nursery you mentioned.
Also, what type of soil do you use? Do you make yourself or buy a pre-mixed type?

Toni - Cedar may rot, but it takes a long time--much longer than most woods that I'm familiar with. I have cousins who live in Vail, Colorado. Anyway, I last visited them in 1975, after their wrap-around deck (made entirely of untreated cedar) was built. More than 30 years later, this deck is still functioning fine. And it still looks good. Often, in the south, Juniper is referred to as Cedar. But they definitely aren't the same.

AAE..right on about the untreated cedar. Toni, I live in cedar country here in Washington state.We use cedar alott here for outside projects.All my fences are in cedar.My citrus is grown inside the greenhouse so weathering is not a problem, although I also have my pots up on concrete blocks off the gravel.And my Mason Bee's are too cool!I have (5) Bee hotels mounted on the side of Garage facing my greenhouses. They are easy keepers.I bought them from a friend that owns a nursery.They also pollinate my other fruit tree's.Anyone can have them. I do nothing for them except put up more hotels when needed because they multiply every year.And sometimes I make my own soil.When I buy soil,I like a brand called Black Gold with which I also like to incorporate alittle steer manure.LOL!This is also how I grow my veggies anymore.I don't use any chemicals in my garden either.And my tomatoes and cukes are grown in containers in one of the gh's.And last question...no spray or anything on the citrus pots:)***Suzanne

Suzanne, Your friend should reconsider his decision about not manufacturing cedar containers. A 2-1/2 X 2-1/2 feet wide by 2-ft. deep banded cedar container is hard to find, and when one does find them they are expensive. There would be a good market for quality made cedar containers. The avantage that cedar has over regular plastic containers is their great looks, especially plesant on an area such as a patio. In your area Port Orford Flat cedar trees grows all along the coastal areas. You did not mention above that you also added manure to your trees soil mixture, along with the Whitney Farms. Put me down for ten cedar containers. - Millet

AAE, thanks..I didn't realize Cedar lasted that long without rotting, especially if placed outside in the elements. I love the smell of cedar. We have a closet in the basement w/cedar walls, and to this day it's scent is strong..
Suzanne, what do the bees do in winter? Other than their, homes, lol, do you have to supply the little stingers with anything else to keep them going? Ever been stung? (S)
I've Butterfly Bushes in front and back which attract various bees, so they take care of my citrus.
Last summer a 'married' couple of wasps built a perfect little nest right above my gh door. They really are creative though I don't like them, and as far as I know they're no help to flowering plants. In fall, I ran the hose, full spray, over their nest..but it was empty..guess they found a better environment..lol..
Someone mentioned Black Gold soil on antother forum, swearing it was great. I've never seen it out here, but will keep my eyes opened come spring.
