Seed Traders Not-So-Anonymous Meeting
Comments (44)Oooohhh, I haven't had one of those brownies in a long time...may need to try them again :) I remember a looonnnggg time ago in my hippie days growing a large crop of that special "lettuce" in an old car that broke down. Used to clean out some seeds from that lettuce and some must have fallen on the floor. The car broke down and was parked out in the back lot...months later there was lots of green stuff growing! It made the perfect greenhouse. Wow we had an awesome party that night and the next and the next.... Too bad the lettuce I have growing in the basement is not the special kind. I wouldn't want the fuzz to come down on me LOL. Kim Here is a link that might be useful: Check out my blog!...See MoreNEW: Hortiholics- Anonymous pal swap
Comments (100)Luvstogarden--your info should be arriving any time now as it was mailed out with the others. I don't know about the return addr. thing. I did it with my box before and PO lady said "Any reason why this is the same addr?" I told her it was a secret swap thing. And she just said OK. But, due to terrorism, like Dusty said you might end up having the PO go through your stuff. As of right now I have 2 trades that were supposed to be sent to me that are MIA. One time I had a bubble envie returned in a plastic bag - it was ripped up. Guess it went through the shredder! I have sent things without writing my name and only putting my addr. That's an idea as well....See MoreUPDATE: ~~~January Hortiholics Anonymous~~~
Comments (134)I received my most wonderful box today. Everything was so perfect and so thoughtful I just can't believe it! I received: Nice Garden Gloves, a mini watering can that is so precious and is so much like a larger one I have they make such a cute pair! Chocolate and chocolate silk morning glories some of my most wanted seeds! a cute basket that I'm going to keep my outgoing mail in. Tea light candles - can't have too many of those. A beautiful crystal candle holder. A big fat lil' notebook - how did you know I'm down to the last few pages of my old one. A garden hose spray nozzle - the one my DH has on the hose is never the right pressure - this one will be just right! A really gorgeous mini picture frame, a hanging basket with coro fiber potting soil, a little hanging house ornament - have it hanging on my kitchen cupboard - a really lovely pot and flowers stationery set. I just love to use notes like that! and Avon Skin so Soft lotion - seems like we are getting more mosquitos here every year and that's one of the only things that helps. and a special gift, a diary, for Ava. How thoughtful! Thanks "secret pal" Tina, you're the best!...See MoreSucculent identification wizards welcome
Comments (9)Mostly inorganic mix is much better for succulents. Clean all old soil of the rots. Do not rush with fertilizer, get plant first into better mix and container with drainage hole. Succulents are not heavy feeders, they grow in very lean substrates. If and when you use it, it is better to use half of recommended dose. You can use water soluble or liquid, but get one with 3:1:2 ratio....See Moressk22 Ohio 5b
