Caudiciform begonias.

Asking this here because nobody on the Begonia forum grows these. I got a caudiciform begonia back in May, and proceeded to almost kill it by greatly underestimating its water needs. And then it proceeded to die completely over the course of two heat waves. Whoops.

Bought another one about a month ago, which was considerably larger and much more established. I'm currently getting a lot of leaf loss, though, and not sure what's behind it.

It sounds like leaf drop in begonias is typically a response to sudden changes in growing conditions. The plant is currently indoors because it's winter, but my lighting, temperature, and humidity don't seem to be too different from the greenhouse that I bought it from.

Not sure on the actual species. It's either a Begonia partita or Begonia dragei, although it sounds like these two get hybridized so much that it's not likely to get a pure anything.
