Nic, you didn't mention the age of your tree..I think age counts..You mentioned it was small..
Continue feeding during growing period, give plenty of light, warmth, and humidity.
BTW, did your plant have vine weevil? Toni

Toni, No it didn't have any signs of vine weevil, touch wood. It has been overwhelmed by the growth of everything else, so lack of light might be the problem. Our exotic garden/patio area is quite small, so everything gets pushed to the edges when we have a BBQ. A new piece of garden is coming on stream, on the south side of the garage, which is a real sun trap, so the citrus will go there next year.

Just curious as to if you've contacted the site that I suggested in the UK. How far are they located from you? I was impressed with the variety of citrus that they stock. I wish I could purchase some of their citrus but I checked with them and they cannot ship plants, budwood or seeds into the US. So, from that prospective....you're lucky! From the comments that you made to Toni...sounds like better light would be helpful. I still contend that heavy, slow draining soil mixes, plus over watering cause a big percentage of citrus problems. Certainly, fertility, insects, light, temps, pot size, soil and water ph and such are issues too. Well, good luck...hope you can talk to David and his group...I'd bet they can be of help. I bought one about 2 weeks ago and have it in a large pot where it gets full sunshine from about 1pm on. Its got a few buds, but I have had problems with aphids munching holes in the leaves and chewing up leaves. I've also lost a few leaves in the last few days.

Not sure if I'm treating it right, it has about 50 leaves and about 5 buds. I really want this one to grow, but I gotta get something to kill the munching bugs.

So, there's a guy on ebay selling one for $65 ($49 starting bid.) Is this a reasonable price? It seems high, but I haven't yet found one available elsewhere.

Hamilmk, you can buy a BH for 20.00 at www.briteleaf.com or www.harriscitrus.com Trees are at least 3' tall, some even bearing fruit depending on the season.
Shipping at Briteleaf is 10.00 for 1 tree and 15.00 for 2. Toni

The BH I got last year from Briteleaf had three nice fruits on it. They are all ripe now and smell great.
Now a question. When is the best time to pick them and bring the fruits inside to enjoy the smell.
