a wonderful dragon eye.. if you look at the green bands.. as they go around the whorl... they seem to make an eyeball .... in latin Oculus Draconis ...
first 2 years after transplant.. lost nearly every single needle ....

Yes, it seems the summers are not hot enough here for the banded densifloras, the green forms are fine otherwise
