Great pics Jim. I see your frogs are still there, cute little critters. I am so jealous. Everything I didn't bring in is mush in my flower beds or going dormant after it got to 25 the other morning then it was 73 today. Go figure.

Barry shot some close up and I asked him which camera he had it was a Cannon ELPH. So I found a Cannon Power shot 800 Elph for 200 with free shipping. It was kind of a early birthday for me mine is the 24th. I really like it. The camera is the size of a credit card and 1" thick.

These were shot in very low light. I thought I was taking pics my 1st go around. LOL It has a extended push 1st one allows you to select center all the way sounds a shutter. I was going to wait until tomorrow but had to see how it focused in macro. You cannot full zoom in macro or your depth of field collapses and hence the frog is a little blurry.

Not a whole lot to shoot flower wise and I like a dummy was taking some cuttings after dark and cut off my new stars limb with 4 flowers getting ready to open. So I put them in my outside bubbler. Fingers crossed.

Jim is that a picture of Rex, or did you get a new dog? I was so sorry to hear that Tex passed on this summer. The dog in the picture is beautiful, I hope he is special like Tex. Barbra,

Barbara he is one of Tex's sons. There are 3 sons the one in the picture Tigger, LT and Snapper are the other son's. Tex was a once in a lifetime dog. (If you are lucky) Tex was so special I would ask him "who are you give me a sign" he would smile. He was much smarter than I will ever be. He has his own Plumeria, canna and wind chime garden.

The sons are great but have a long way to achieve Tex status. You coming down this weekend? It has been beautiful this week. It is supposed to get oold Sunday. T shirt and shorts all week.

Jim, we are coming down tomorrow, if you come by bring your new camera, you can take a picture of my new flowerbed, and post it. I can't even figure out how to post pictures when I have a cd, I just gave up. My husband is off today until after the 1st of the year, so maybe he will have time to help me. you will get to know the camera, Jim. Took me a while to get it right. There are many many settings in the menu to fool around with, if yours is anything like mine.

Barry it has a bunch of settings. I used to do so manual photography when I was in college and appreciate being able to control things like ISO, depth of field etc. It is amazing when I reviewed my photos in macro I can see what the plants need. I am going to send some to shutterbug and have them do some prints like 11 x 14 just $ 5 bucks. Thanks for the tip.

Wildflower I was an abused kid. Happy Birthday Merry Christmas all rolled into one. Now I celebrate it on the 1st. It is a lot easier that way. Birthday cake and Christmas Turkey do not mix real well. If I could I would let it slide by.

I am planning on potting some of the plumeria and putting in the garage for insurance. I will keep your yellow one until the spring, you are a wonderful gardener, but you do it on such a large scale. You saw how horrible the yard looked, just think Linda brought over 5 of the master gardeners to my house 2 weeks ago. I had just gotten there, and had not even turned on the water when they drove up. They want me to put my gardens in the master gardenes tour, but I told them no, not until I live there. I did not look bad just not picture perfect. Kind of like it had not combed its hair today. Hard to look good when it goes from 80+ to 40 with 50+ mph winds. All my Plumeria came from stock that was left outside so unless I have a change of heart mine will shiver. Finger crossed. I will email you.

Jim you can go into the menu of the camera and turn the camera sounds off,I had to turn mine off because it beeps when I hook it up to the computer,when it is trying to tell me to turn it off, to save the batteries,when it auto focus,and when you snap the pic,all the beeps drove me nuts.Bonnie

Mine is not noisy. I do not like strange noises from toys maybe they decided to leave them off this model.

Not much to take pictures of my brugs buds seem to linger and not grow or open I guess it is that time of the year. Here is my 2nd day of decent plant and animal shots. I am learning the cameras need and wants for zoom macro.

What is the plant with the yellow flower and is there a difference between the 2 black currant swirls????

Beautiful pics Jim. Your cute little doggie looks a lot like the mother to my devil dog, lol. I don't know how BB ended up looking like long legged little giraffe, lol. I love the dark purple edges on that one flower. Is that a black currant swirl? Is the yellow one some kind of hybiscus?

I believe they are black currant swirl. I have no idea what the plant with the yellow flower is. I have looked on and off for a few months.

I am like a kid with a new toy. It has been since my days with film on a slr that I could make a camera do what I wanted. I do believe I have taken almost all of the items worth taking pics of. Darn brugs all those buds and no flowers. Just updated the cable and got 6 mbps and saved $ 15.00 a month for the same amount as I was paying.

keep the images comming Jim, we up in the north need a boost!
