Desert rose & high desert don't mix.

Hi,

Just wanted to relate my experience with my desert rose plants this summer.

They did not like being outside at all! Although we have very warm days, our nights cool down to 50s. I think they were in shock or something. It's also dry so I had a mister on them during the day and maybe that was another problem.

All summer I did not get one leaf on any of them. So I moved them inside to the sunroom in September and now they are all doing great. Two of them bloomed as well. So they have a reserved spot in the sunroom from now on. The only problem is that limits the number I can have.

But thanks to the advice on Trichocereus blooms I read here last year, I had some lovely flowers. I'm glad the cacti enjoy the temperature differences.

My plants are all in for the winter and the sunroom is busting at the seams. I really can't buy any more at this point. I tried to put a light stand in the living room and was told NO very emphatically, lol.
