yet another jade plant post

Hi everybody,

Jade plants are so popular on this forum, I thought I'd throw a very basic question about them into the mix:

About a year or so ago, my mother in law brought me 3 cute little jade cuttings in a pot. 2 of the cuttings recently began to get so big and heavy they started flopping over. I took a sharp pair of scissors and hacked off a few pieces and stuck the cut ends into the soil beside the original cuttings. Did I do the right thing? Will these new cuttings eventually root (and how long does the rooting process take)?

I trust the advice I receive on this forum: a few months ago I posted a question on how to grow cacti from seeds. I followed the advice given, and now I have over 60 cute spiky little seedlings! (everything from saguaros to joshua trees, organ pipes...etc.) Plants everywhere!

Thanks for any advice anyone can provide about the jade cutting issue.

Chris
