Hi,

My sister just gave me a nice sized plant, it came in a basket from our fathers funneral a month ago. I know nothing about them and in doing a search on them I did find out they do not like to be potted. This was in a pot w/spoil when sis gave it to me, she said it was in a pot when she got it as well. (funny the flower shop didn't know better).

Anyway, I put it in a shallow clay pot with orchid bark and spagnum moss. I have it in strong indirect light (eastern exposure). I keep the mix moist, not soggy. From what I have read, they prefer to be outside and attatched to a tree or the sort. It wouldn't survive the winters here, so that's not an option.

It does have some of the brown (can't remember the proper name) stuff at the base of the plant. It seems to be pretty healthy so far. I do grow a lot of plants and manage to keep them happy, but I have never considered one of these, no offence but I think they are homley looking.

How fast do they grow? What about feeding them? Are they prone to pests?

Thanks to any and all.
