Katrina's Damage to Citrus Crops

Even though it's early, news is starting to surface about the potential damage to commercial agriculture crops by Katrina. According to the story (linked), Alabama officials expect no Satsumas (or pecans) after the storm swept through earlier this week.

Meanwhile, please keep all of the residents in your thoughts and prayers. My wife took my son's Cub Scout den to a local Red Cross disaster shelter yesterday to drop off blankets and games (mostly to people from New Orleans) and my wife came home. . .affected. It is very sad to know that these people -- who this time last week were playing, working and going to school -- now own nothing but the clothes on their backs.
