It is a german site that I hear some BGI members overseas talking about. I had to look it up. The language is in German but the pics are nice to look at, especially since it will be quite some time before I see any in person again :)

While there, I spent several hours with Jack in 45* temps and horizontal rain. We talked about the collection & each tree's (all of those pictured above and a few more) history at length, and then went to look at the 30-40 trees that were in the collection, but usually out of the public's view. We then went to his home & spent a considerable amount of time reviewing his trees and looking at his indoor set-up where he grows MANY temperate trees you're not supposed to be able to grow indoors. We toured the grounds with the guy from DC in a covered 'limousine' golf cart with side curtains. Everyone was really hurried about their business because there was a sense of urgency to get out of the rain, so I never got the chance to ask the question. I asked Jack, but I didn't get anything definitive from him. I haven't forgotten about it though. I had composed a letter/message yesterday articulating the question in such a way that I would get a technical answer, but as I was correcting the message I hit a 'wrong key' and lost the whole thing. oops, wasn't finished...these will grow and get crowded/fill out over the summer, I'll remove some as they get over crowded, or if they get pests etc. Barb, with succies that are not overly sensitive, so common ones, plentiful propagators etc. I can just move them around like a florist would use cut flowers...replanting in an arrangement at will. I'd only do this a few times a year, otherwise it could weaken the plants. I'd use a trowel to pull them out in a good rootball and put the bigger ones in first, then tuck in smaller ones to fill. (For more rare or special plants I'd never put them in a grouping). In photo#2 the large dark purple echeveria at top is violacina. The pink E. at 3 oclock is Afterglow. The big pink trailing jellybeans is pachyphytum oviferum. It's great for containers as an edge trailer. Here's another shot if in in a single pot, This pot is about 14 inches tall, wth a rbick under, soon to need another brick:-) since I am afrais I will break the long stems if I try to repot. repot.

Porcelanosa Gravity Aluminum Tile. I know this will get some you excited. I bought some of their tile for an accent wall in my powder room (Nala Beige) and it looks amazing. Not too expensive if you wait until the 40% off sale around Thanksgiving. I have no affiliation with Porcelanosa, just love their stuff.

LOL I don't know my german from my swedish. I know English and I can recoginize Spanish from high school....probably couldn't translate it well, LOL. I can probably recoginize French but besides that I will have no clue what the language is. I associate brugs with Germany unless the site is English, LOL.

Years ago (maybe 10) when I was starting out in Brugs I contacted Gommer and we had some very pleasant emails back and forth. He was the supplier of Brugs that were shipped in volume to Canada of the Brugs I bought and I was looking for their proper names. He and I have both come a long was since then!

Shawn you know i always follow your links roflmao. Even if it means TWICE because I did not realize that you needed another fix and bumped it up ha ha ha ha Took me a while but I did enjoy the Hibiscus very much. This time I took a look at them and had to get out of there before I reached the end.

Ruth Ann now that is very nice that you got to meet Gommer personally over the phone. I betcha you got a lot of great growing tips etc
