Last day of 70 degrees...

The last anticipated 70-degree day of the year has passed, and to celebrate said last day, one should take pictures.

I'm tickled to see some surprise variegation developing here. Still debating over a concrete ID, gosh darnit, but well..

Aeonium 'Ballerina' I love

Aeonium arboreum var. atropurpureum hairs

Aeonium haworthii has a good seven developing branches

Echeveria nodulosa: always photogenic

Everyone likes teeth.

Clean pictures - sounds funny, but best description I have..great looking. I share your excitement on the Haworthia and Gasteria, hmmm, maybe I must add some of them to my Christmas list! LOL!

Jalal is about 2 hours south of me, my pond is still running with the occasional peek at the fish. The heater is getting a workout this year. Lots of snow this early in the year, another inch this morning. We are hanging just under 0 now, hope it lasts. The bunny trail to the pond is getting a lot of use this year

Hi Pitimpani, I wouldn't worry about the low 40's, we've that had here several mornings lately. Finished planting (at least for now) and of course it's been rainy and cool ever since. Bah humbug. Still I have sprouts shooting up above ground just a week or after planting. Yippee: the season is underway!

It was great wasn't it? I moved a Rose of Sharon I had growing in a pot into the ground today. It is about 3 years old and getting too big for it. The ground was easy to dig also. I also moved some blooming dark purple hardy pansies from a spot I didn't want them in, I put them in front of the ROse of Sharon, looks nice. The ROS is nothing but big twigs, but the cute little flower heads brighten up the spot. I want spring to finally come, but I have a feeling we'll have to wait about 6 more weeks. Drats!!!!!!!

We have very windy too. Transitioning from yesterday's tropically damp very windy to tomorrow's desert heat very windy. When I got home, today, my car said it was 86° F. When it was 83° it still felt cool because of the wind. When it hit 85° it just felt like chamsin. At least the nights have been cool this week. By that, I mean mid-60's.

Well, they are fairly clean; not a bad description at all, hah! :)

(I added two other Haworthia to my "Christmas list" today. Wheee. I have no self-restraint.)

E. 'Painted Beauty' is always a knockout plant, ain't it. That plant was a little decrepit and beat-up when I first got it, and it has worked hard to prove itself.

After sleeping on it, maybe "crisp or fresh" would have been better words, LOL! Maybe I must add a rack to the list as well, then I can throw a few in for my birthday list as well - forward thinking! LOL!

"Crisp" or "clean" are just fine for words...my 86-year-old grandmother, when she last saw a plant photo I'd taken, said, "Oh! That's a nice picture. It looks like it's been sterilized or something." That's her phrase for "clean," basically. At Thanksgiving dinner last year, when I walked in the door, she smiled and told me that I looked "very sterile today."

It's a big compliment. :) Hahaha.
