Wanted to share some photos

These were all left behind by the previous home-owner. I'm mostly clueless about plants =/ I think the largest one is an Agave? It has babies growing and I need to figure out what to do with them.

very nice, the agave wil be fine there, though maybe not as nice lookin solitary, or you can dig them and move them else where.

Im guess you live somewhere frost free?

Plants in pics 1 and 4 look a little thirsty especially #4

I kind of want to move the Agave to the front yard. I have two little boys... Running boys & spikes don't mix. The other plants are in the front yard. There's a sprinkler system, but I don't think it's hitting that planter. They're getting a really good drink right now, it started pouring rain an hour ago.

It can get pretty cold here. I'm definately going to have to cover the lemon trees in winter, and probably these as well.

They are pretty and I am waiting on her to give me some when they are mature. ;) Not sure how I'll eat it since I've heard they are starchy if eaten fresh. Guess I try cooking them as suggested. The tree is about 10-12' tall and in full sun. She's had to apply supports to the tree since it always seems to want to fall over in a rainstorm.

Glad I'm not the only one inspired by these grand places! Zion, Bryce, Canyonlands are also places I go to every single chance I have. For lovers of cactus and succulents, it's a dream come true - seeing our beloved plants in their native environment. Loving this!!!

Picture 1 and 5 is Ghost plant or Graptopetalum paraguayense. Not from Paraguay and cold hardy to 8a or 7b, picture 3 on the right is Faucaria tigrina, nice orange flowering one. Mine bloom yellow. Maybe a sedum on the right. It is probably cold hardy for you. Picture 5 on the right is a cobweb sempervivvum, Sempervivum arachnoidium

I think all these plants would be hardy for you, maybe not the faucaria, but maybe it too. I don't know the Zone you are in.

Thank you for the IDs. The Faucaria Tigrina looks like a T-Rex mouth =D I'm guessing whatever is in pic 4 shouldn't be that color? It hasn't changed much since I moved in, but it doesn't look right to me.

I'm in zone 7b per the map. The lowest temp I remember here is 20 deg. Is a sheet going to be enough to cover these, or do I need to go get something special?

For information, one can google the name of the species and then go to a certain site that we a not alowed to mention on this site that begins with "Dave" and ends with "garden's". It mentions that Faucaria tegrina is hardy to 9b or 20 degrees. A sheet might get you 10 degrees, but probably less. Christmas lights under the sheet might get you all the way there or since the plants are low, throw some leaves under the sheet. The semps need notheing, the ghost plant is hardy to 7b. Agave americana is hardy to about 23 f. The plant you have is still smallish so maybe it is growung back from the roots. One can still protect it with a sheet but once it gets to big, they get to be a pain to protect.
