clematis obtusidentata growing pods

CHERRYCIRCUS

i have what i believe to be clematis obtusidentata which is quite beautiful and covering the tops of my fences. i noticed the other day there are pods hanging off of them they look like small watermelons with spikes. i took one of the pods apart and there are 2 seeds in the that look like white watermelon seeds or pumpkin seeds. does anyone have any idea what this is? there are maybe a hundred of the pods. last year we had grown pumkin and watermelon in that area is there any chance that the plants have mixed? i would appreciate any info. or maybe it is a different plant altogether and you know what it is. thanks, ilesha
