Comments (2)Hi, I have a washington orange tree(dwarf)about 4 feet tall in my backyard and i noticed that half of the branches were dying. It was healthy for a year and all of the sudden this things happened started 2 months ago. Most of the leaves turns yellow and small branches turns to brown. New fruits about 10 mm in size were falling. I watered my tree almost every other day. Applied citrus fertilizer and still not working. How could i keep my tree healthy? Thank you so much....See MoreWhat's wrong with my orange trees? Yellow leaves
Comments (12)Well, I wouldn't be surprised if they were neglected by the store - it was kmart and they were on clearance... I think they had some of the yellowing then, but i don't think it was as bad. I went to osh two nights ago, the guy working there pointed me towards some Orchard Citrus and avocado fertilizer, so i used about a tablespoon of that on each plant and watered thoroughly after applying. It was 10-4-10 mix I believe. I'm not sure if it was for potted plants, I'll have to check. That is the only fertilizer I've applied to the plants. I've been watering once every couple days. The one in the black pot is in the original soil from the store, the one in the tan pot was put in a potting soil mix. They are on the south side of the house. The temps have mid 70s to low 80s during the day, low to high 60s at night. They were in an outdoors covered patio at kmart when i bought them, now they are in direct sunlight from probably 7am to 4pm Thanks...See Moredwarf orange tree leaves are yellow

Comments (2)Ditto what John said, definitely way too dry. Create a nice well around this little tree beyond the drip line (edge of canopy). Water deeply twice a week, three times if you're in a really hot area (you don't mention where you live). Looks like it's really getting a baking in this corner, so it's going to need some water. Once you've watered really well for about a week, apply a good citrus fertilizer that contains micronutrients as well as the macronutrients. As John said, cut out the dead wood and stems. Your little tree is starving to death. Patty S....See Morebhhstudios
