bought as: Picea bicolor 'Howell's Dwarf' [i liked this name ... being one of my older plants... it taught me.. to understand how needles can be two colors.. to learn and enjoy the glaucous undersides as something out of the ordinary ... as a newb.. it taught me to LOOK at my plants.. up close and personal.. all that nomenclature hocus pocus aside ....]

i think the first name change was to:

Picea alcoquiana 'Howell's Dwarf'

and i think it currently stands at:

Picea jezoensis 'Howell's Dwarf'

that sure doesnt make pic storage easy .. having the same plant under a multitude of names .. crikey ... and i wouldnt be surprised if someone rolls thru and changes it again.. or adds a tigertail to it.. oh God.. who knows ...
