Yay, I got my SS package!!

Here is the scoop- well, the photos, anyway!!

What a nice surprise!! Lots of gardening goodies in the form of gloves (small, so my hubby can't steal them), pocket notebooks (great for hybridizing notes and records), and oodles of some very nice seeds!! I even got a seedpod!! I think it is asclepsia ?????????? And my favorite Almond Joy minis!! Gotta take care of the sweet tooth!

And I got 2 orchid cactus, which I am thrilled about, my collection is growing, and I got two kinds of staphelia- Star flower cactus, which look suspiciously like carrion flowers in the photos- they are spectacular but stinky!!! Luckily they bloom when it is warm! I love 'em anyway, stink and all!!

So, no name on the package ............ but it came with a Fort Worth postmark on it!! Who do you think is my SS????????

I couldn't open the pic ..BUT that Epi looks like a Ric Rack.. OOO I know who sent this..HEY got another cutting? I'll Trade.. LOL

first they flowered, then they had in between the flowered spots that had dried out, was the black seeds, and boy do i know the need to chat!! my two kids are at vbs and its quiet, and i'm used to all the noise!! you'd think i'd enjoy the peace and quiet!! LOL HEE HEE i think ya just kinda get them all out of the flwered type thing and let them "dry out" for a few days or however long, i store all my seeds in a medicine bottles, (i have tons of them) and put them in the fridge. I am so glad that it got there okay and that you like it. The tibouchina grandiflora (Princess Flower) will have large round leaves (up to 9 inches) that are have silvery fur on both sides. It has the same purple flowers as the regular Princess Flower and same growing requirements. Yours will look like the one in this photo. They are frost tender. http://centralfloridagarden.com/favorites/tibouchina.html The Strictocardia (Hawiian Bell Vine) is a vigorous grower and makes pretty hot pink flowers with a yellow center, my mother plant has buds on it right now, so it likes to bloom the most in the fall but sometimes will bloom sporadically the rest of the year. They will need protection if it freezes. I would prob. wait till spring to plant in them in the ground. They will both need afternoon shade in TX. The raccon village figurine is from my dd. She saw them and wanted to get it for you and bought it with her own $ lol! She thought they were so cute. Then I had to also get her a redneck xmas cd because she wanted one too when she saw yours LOL! I plant those pink and white sweet potato vines under the brugs for ground cover. They look especially good with pink and white brugs and will climb up the trunks with a little coaxing. Any ideas of some gifts I could get my stepsons age 23 and 25? John gets them socks, underwear and T'shirts every year and I have run out of ideas for other stuff. They are so private about what they do in there spare time. One is a reserved preppie accountant and the other is in college but more laid back and hip hop style dress and music, lol. They are totally different. I got them each a game system last year but if you have any ideas I would appreciate it. Some of you men tell me what you would have used at that age if you can remember that long ago, lol.

Okay, y'all--before I retired, I taught "sets" for decades in my math classes and I can certainly offer oodles of rationale behind my groupings! LOL Here's a new way to look at it if you wish (humor!)...for any item(s) that might be questionable as part of a set, well, the item(s) will automatically become Bizzo's birthday gift(s)! Ta-daaaaah! See? No "cheating!" Her birthday is Monday so this works out perfectly--she just got herself a bonus of more b'day stuff if anything doesn't fit into a set! :O) Celebrate the zero, Bizzo! Well I had to go loook up the ricrac. It is cool looking and Kylie, SJN... there is one on ebay, LOL. Brenda I just wanted to let you know I sent out the package I owed you today so you should have another box of goodies later this week.

gottahosta~Hope you liked your SS package, sorry no brugs this year but hopefully I will have some to share next year.Wow I could not belive Almond Joys were your favorite too. LOL Hope the seeds and plants bring you much joy to your home and garden;0)

I want to see!..I want to see! Poo I can't get the pics to enlarge but Brenda sounds like you like some really cool plants. hummmm, Almond Joys...I always feel like a nut. LOL
I have to google some of those plants to see what they look like.
What fun this SS is. So many members received their boxes today. I'm enjoying reading all the posts and seeing all the excitement.

What a great package! Good for you! I am glad you found out who sent as now I won't lay awake at night trying to figure it out? I do love mysteries though! Rigo sounds like you outdid yourself!

Rigo yes I do! and I sure love using your idea for all the seeds I have been collecting that are just for me as an overflow catcher lol. My gosh some plants produce a lot of seeds roflmao.

So, thanks so much for the Epis- you read my wants!! I love them! And what kind of milkweed pod is that??? Ya got a photo? And for all the seeds and gardening goodies!! And everything!!! ;-)

:-) yeah it does Rigo. I had a few *little* ones like that and when it was suppose to get to cold for them in my mind, I just cut them down and now I hope those too will come back next year.
