Moved kumquat (Citrus) tree Southern California having issues

Hey All,

About a 6 weeks ago, I moved a Kumquat tree from one side of the yard to the other. The tree was a family favorite, but I was extending my deck and it had to be done. The tree is about 8 feet high and was producing (it was the only reason we were having reservations about extending the deck!). I followed instructions from various sources (though I'm sure I messed something up). I was worried about moving it this late in the year... but the timing was what it was...

In any case, the tree lost almost all of its leaves... and many of the branches have turned brown. There are some (not many) green branches left and a few very small patches of leaves left... but I'd say less than ten percent of the leaves have survived. I live in Los Angeles and it's getting pretty hot. What are the chances this tree makes it? Is it already pretty much dead? Should I wait and see or is there anything else I can do?

Any and all help is greatly appreciated and thanks!
