Thanks, Pug. Yeah, they bloom early here, but I hope they will bloom again by Xmas time :-). They normally do that!

What's up with this? Well if it is a problem then it has loads of buds and seemed to get others to post there's as well.... Who knows Mike plants can be odd at a times maybe yours just needed to see snow before it flowered.

My husband gets as many as 30 calls a day, from all over the country. I suspect it is because he is job hunting online and isn't savvy about what sites he visits and gives out his contact information to. He gets dozens of e-mails per day too and lots of junk mail. He can't even keep up with deleting them. I've tried to get him to unsubscribe and mark spam but he doesn't. His phone is full of apps that give him pop ups, and is almost unusable at this point. He can't be bothered but the constant phone ringing bothers me. Now my phone has started in with it. I suspect I got fooled by phone number cloning to answer once or twice and now my number is making the rounds. This is getting close to bad science fiction . . .

Here's the new Samsung range/stove, which was installed yesterday. As you may be able to see, there is a drawer to the right of it, which was a little too close, and so I cut a notch in the drawer face so that it would not hit the door pull on the oven. You cannot even see the notch from this angle, and the notch does not bother me. It's worth it to get this stove installed. I haven't cooked on it yet, but I will use it to make lunch today, I think. We will paint the notch cut tomorrow, just before we leave so that we won't have to wait for the paint to dry. I also want to paint parts of the pantry door behind the door pull, and I will remove the pull before I do that, which will also be tomorrow. Now I just have to figure out how to use the oven. It's rather complicated, and I don't know whether I can just turn it on with the knob in front, although perhaps I can. That option is not in the instructions, which describe a lot of buttons that have to be pushed and adjusted in order to control the oven. It does have a lot of features that I like, but it will take some time to figure them all out. At first it seemed like it has too many options, but I do think I will use most of them. The oven has a very low option, 150°, and has a desiccating option. It seems to have a nice broiler, which I do not have in L.A. I was a bit disappointed with the griddle that came with it, but I have my own cast iron griddle that I can use on the middle oval burner if I want. I had an extra griddle in L.A. that I brought here, and we had originally planned to use it on the outdoor BBQ, but I think I will use it more inside. I'll post more once I've used it and have figured out the oven. I plan to write my own oven operating instructions that will be condensed to just what I think is relevant for my own use.

I've never seen anything like the striated pattern on the orange one. Is this common out there w/ you, or would this be unusual for you too Xuan? It's just beautiful!!!

pirate girl, the 'unusual' orange one was a salvage! I was in the US Xmas time 2006 and after the holidays many people threw away their cacti. I found this sad looking cactus lying by the roadside while walking our dog. So I took it home and put it to root and then brought it all the way back to Vietnam with me, never knew what the bloom looked like!

It grew very beautifully. Unfortunately my neighbor, who I asked to water my plants in my absence, knocked the pot down! Many of the branches got broken and only one bloom was left! And it looked that unusually beautiful!

Anyway, I have put down the broken branches to root and hopefully I will have a pot full again, before long.

I'm glad you guys like my CC. Thank you.

Beautiful! Especially that second one! I just put mine outside so they will start to get the daylight change for blooming. It's nice to be able to keep them outside here in SW FL.

I see them today...they are beautiful! Can't wait for mine to start. The rest aren't showing anything yet but it won't be long now.

Xuan,very nice pictures. I have the striped one, it's called Stephanie and I just love the color. My CC are starting to set buds and so far it looks like I will be getting many more blooms than last year.

Really KS, what part of the country are you in pls? I'll be keeping my eyes open for any CC w/ stripes like that.

pirate girl, I'm in Kansas and I found two Stephanie CC plants last year at two differant nurseries.
I think this is my favorite bloom out of all the CC I've seem.

I just found two of my CC plants or schlums as I refer to them (from schlumbergera) have tiny little buds starting. Everyone keep posting pictures as they come along please. I don't have Stephanie but I do have about 25 different types of all different colours, many are named.

Mine are setting buds much sooner this year. I have I think at last count 23 differant named ones and quite a few not named ones and several of the Buckleyi, from several differant sources but I think they're all pink. I've heard there is also a red and I'd love to find that one.
If anyone has it I'd be interested in a trade.
