Gotta love those crests! One of my favorite parts about cresting is removing the reversions and growing them out. I'm in the habit of calling them "reverts". I have a crest developing on an Echeveria seedling I grew - whoopeee!! I'm pretty sure the mama is Echeveria 'Fireball' but I'm just guessing at the name after a brisk image search. flowerlilies It is difficult to find mix like that for sale, there is some places-people that sell something like that but unfortunately I don't know who and where. And I am in Canada...but hopefully someone that knows will post. In the meantime, lets hope that mix you purchased will work - as I said, it is difficult to tell from just a small photo. You can try and contact the seller and ask for the ingredients in that mix, once you know - it would be easier to adjust anything if necessary. Sorry that I can't tell you about exact care for your plant - I don't have any experience with it. But for all succulents, light and good drainage are important. Do you have enough natural light where you plan on keeping it? During winter, I have to supply extra lights for my succulents, otherwise they grow very 'leggy'. What zone/general area are you in? I think your plant needs more light, the leaves seem to be quite far apart. All photos I have seen show more compact rosettes, as most Echeverias are. From what I read, this Echeveria is branching - like a small shrub, and develops woody stems. And if it doesn't have enough light, I would think it gets really 'leggy'. But if so, pruning should help. Best time for taking cuttings is apparently April - July. Beheading is very common with many similar succulents, leaving original stem in the soil, it will grow new buds. Cut off the rosette with a piece of stem, callus and pot. It should root quite easily. Poofy - You've scored yourself a pretty sweet plant - it looks like a Crested Echeveria Ryuonii to me. If you discover it has root mealys, remove the plant from the pot, clear all of those nasty dirt. Soak the roots in some water/dish soap or water/peremethrin - let it dry and soak in water again. Dust some DE, plant it in new clean soil. Give it some weeks to recover and adapt to the repotting. Observe for mealys, they usually come back with eggs in a month or so. When you see your plant recover, feed it some intropicid acid (cant rmb the spelling - but it's basically bayers shrubs and feed). That should prevent the mealys from eating the new growths. Mealys are though to get rid, but based on my experience, when you water your plants often, when they are potted in porous soil and placed in airy environment like a patio or shaded roof. Chances are mealys can't thrive, because they hate wetness, because I water my plants often (but they also dry really quickly which is great for my succulents). When you have stale air and dryness for a prolonged period of time, mealys are in heaven. Hope my advise make sense. Best of luck! Crested plants are a joy to grow. My crested Debbie..

If many leaves are yellowing, there is probably a watering problem - usually overwatering. It could be from underwatering too, but first happens more often. Insufficient light will cause color change, but not so much yellow. I am assuming they are indoors - could you keep any outside? If not, what kind of sunlight do you have? I would suggest using lots of perlite or pumice mixed with soil. Whatever I can see in photos, looks like very peaty mix (or cocopeat?) PPL using soil mix it with at least 50% of sifted perlite. Or you can use gritty mix - made of mostly inorganic substrates (grit, perlite/pumice, turface, scoria...)
