heck .... i never even heard of most of the names you bring up in conversation.. let alone grow any of the things.. lol ...

well ... at least with this one.. i have heard of a nootka.. and realize it used to be a cham ... guess you guys are forcing me to learn something...

but that still leave nidifera ... and i have never.. in my life ... seen the prefix nidi ... whats that all about ... [it usually comes down to that.. doenst it.. lol]

    Edwin

I got my plant from a nursery in Belgium I visited
your nursery in 2004 but never had cuttings from you
however some other conifers from your nursery are doing
    well here.

The blue tag is telling me that it derives from my nursery...
Did you visited my nursery in 2004?

Yes with the BCS would be good if they could organise
another Dutch trip.I think there has been a name mix
    up with this cultivar.

I remember this BCS visit very well, unfortunately I can't remember you.
I do remember Stephen Grubb, Derek Spicer, Jon Tate and Roger Ward...
From which Belgium nursery you received the 'Nidifera'?

There's no name mix about this cultivar, it's the only cultivar of this species which does have a special apple green colour and a featherly foliage.

All my books say its a semi dwarf form with green foliage
but its clearly a tree size cultivar also its much more
glaucous than any other nootkatensis cultivar also Derek
Spicer thinks it might be a hybrid.

Forgot to say I received it from Arboretum Waasland.

    Arboretum Waasland make's sence...
Did Derek also told you which the other parent of this "might hybrid" is?

    Edwin

No he just mentioned that it could be a hybrid but
im sure its a cultivar of X nooketensis ive also
found out that its a very rare plant the X n 'Nidifera'
that is.Do you have one in your arboretum?

I've the only bigger plant in The Netherlands.
All the others around here are cuttings from this specimen, also the one you've.
This is the one in my Pinetum

Actually, that one actually looks more like a Chamaecyparis, with it's delicately drooping tips. Just joking.

Looks like a winner. Does it grow slower than normal?

Blue Yew and Edwin, gorgeous tree!

    Thanks for the pics!

Noki, indeed this cultivar grows slower then the species, also it's foliage and colour are much differend.
