OT: POTD : Here is how I started my day

Good morning

I took a walk in the garden. Thinking about all the loved onces that passed away and I know that they are always in my heart and thought. Not just on this All Saints day.

So when I saw the sunrise....I figured I send this to everyone to warm at least your souls. Can not do much about the cold WEATHER...but starting November with such a beautiful sunrise seems to be perfect. Now when you look at the album or you need to feel some warmth....there it is for you.

You have a lovely back yard too. Now I know where all your brugs grow.

I am early this morning. The sun is not up, is dark outside. I got a scary call at 5 am from the campus police where my son go to college that was a shooting near by. My son is home for the weekend :-). It took me a few seconds to realize he is home. I could not go back to sleep:-(

Thank you for the sunshine- it's cold & rainy here- but I thank God that I could go for my 2 mile walk today- cool & crisp!

Beautiful Amaryllis, mine got too tall this year also. Brrrrrrrrrr is right! Here in San Antonio we are expecting the coldest weather in 40 years. We might not get above freezing on Friday! Many of the plants I brought in a few weeks ago are sprouting new leaves. The first hard freeze snuck up on us and I accidentally left the Duranta out and thought it was dead, but now it's sprouting new leaves. Even one small Brug cutting that got left out is now sprouting from the bottom even though the top is shriveled. We'll be moving the Christmas lights over to the plants that are too big to bring in.

Isn't that sweet. We treasure you too Lucy. Were all the other flowers solid color? You should save some seeds & see what you get next year. I'm home alone most of the time. DH works out of town at a halfway house for developmentally disabled adults. VERY fine line between him & the clients.LOL He is gone all week & home Fri afternoon to Mon am. I can't see to drive anymore (eye muscles don't work together). It gets real quiet around here sometimes & I talk to the dogs & cats & plants. The animals talk back but I can't understand them & the plants remain mute (so far). Haven't started talking to inanimate objects yet, so I guess that's a good sign. LOL Give your DH a hug & be glad he's there. Linda

My condolences my dear friend. I guess my feeling to add that hug at the last minute was good. You and your family will be in my prayers. May God give you the strength to deal with the sudden loss as best as you possibly can. Karyn you are right....it is best not to know lol But 5 bucks round about for a nice sized hibiscus for me is a steal lol April it is long looooooooooooong ago since I went through the first day of school with the 1st born...but it is always harder on the moms to *let them go*. No matter how old they get and where life takes them, it never changes but if you love your child...you let them do their thing. That is IMHO. Barb the cuttings are on the window sill for now. Took as many as I could from the bigger bushes...the new ones...I will give them another season before starting to take things away from them. My neighbor came to the fence yesterday and told me that it looks awesome. Well and I am glad she gets to enjoy the flowers more close up now also :-) HOT....I need to get my stinky self in the shower lol Lucy

Pat I am so glad to hear your son was home. But regardless...very horrifying news :-( Hope everyone was ok.

Kasha walking in the cooler weather is a lot easier on me then in the heat. Glad you got to go :-)

Did not do very much today. But did haul the plants back outside since we are suppose to stay above 50 during the night all week long.
