Brugs and John's birthday gift

Here are the brugs from last night and a pic of John showing off his fish ear ring that Michelle sent him along with some plants for his memory garden for Mercedes. His birthday is tomorrow but I let him open it early because of the plants, lol. Thanks Michelle!

Hey Kristi, what kind of brug is the third picture??..Do you know??..It looks a lot like the one of mine called Rosa Traum...I know they can look a lot alike and still be different kinds :)

Pooh, i've never seen West Wing. Marda, i'd love to read the book by McCullough. I think Abigail had some health problems that might have kept her at home in Quincy a lot of the time. Also since they were the first family to move into the Executive Mansion on the new frontier in Washington, she found it to be primitive compared to her own home. They were devoted to each other and she was a great hostess. We must remember that back in the early years that the public was free to wander in and out of the Executive Mansion to meet and greet the President and First Lady.

John said thank you all and yes I can't keep a secret so I end up giving him gifts for a month, lol. I went to pick up his cake today and saw a freshwater puffer fish and got him that so I would have something to give him today, lol. I thought about that earlier and said boy you racked up since I kept giving him each thing as I bought it, lol. It was a good day. His boys helped finish up the cement board on the greenhouse and just have a couple of small pieces left to do thank goodness. That stuff is incredibly heavy.

LOL! Carol, don't worry about Stella. In this house (according to her) it's all about Stella! Those two cats are still rolling around in the catnip, and enjoying a bite of it too, from time to time. I've got a couple of stoners here! I tried to hide the package from them, but they found it while I was at work and "spread the love" all over the office while I was at work. I swept it back up, but they'll probably be into it again today. Who needs cable when I've got Bump and Stella for entertainment? ((chuckle)) And the birthday goes on! This is sooo cool! Yesterday I received 2 great cards in the mail, one from Sue/suecirish and one from Andrea/appaloosa909. They both had some great seeds in them. THANK YOU LADIES!!! After this month, I kind of pity the seed companies. I don't think I'll be making a seed order for next year. I'm getting plenty of seeds from my friends here on the GW! Lol!..... not historic fiction, but fascinating, are My Dearest Friend : Letters of Abigail and John Adams edited by C. James Taylor and MArgaret Hogan and Founding Mothers : The Women Who Raised Our Nation by Cokie Roberts a novel that popped up when I was trying to find the editor of the letters book was: Patriot Hearts by Barbara Hambly but I can't tell you anything about that one beyond the reviews: it's a novel about Abigail Adams, Martha Washington, Sally Hemings and Dolley Madison and their experience and their view "behind the scenes" of the early American national experience. John said thank you for the Happy Birthday wishes and to let you all those are his brugs, lol. He takes them away from me if they start blooming and claims them as his, lol. Gonna get the sedums and things that Michelle sent taken care of and go pick up the cylinder head for the boat. I hope it came out ok. The third pic is a close up of the new flower on Pink Velvet that just opened last night. Same as in the second pic with an old flower and a new one. They get a nice dark pink by morning and last several days. Lucy if you need a CG I can give you one. Karyn there isn't anything incriminating in there I hope, lol. I wonder if the pic John took of the new people that moved in behind us smoking a doobie on the roof is in there or in his, lol. I guess they don't realize we can see them from our yard, lol.

No, they are a couple of different gingers that the snails are snacking on, lol. I hope they will bloom before it gets too cold. These are new ones for me this year.

Happy Birthday. My dh has one in a few days too lol. They are both Libras :P John sure looks proud of his earring!

You all should just create a separate photobucket acct. for you personal photos and use a diff one for gw and other public sites ! That's what I do lol - otherwise I'd be in trouble :)

He said thank you all and he is happy that I have made so many good friends on here even if they are all up in his biz, lol. He enjoys me reading the forum to him and he comes and looks at all the pics. Now he is collecting his own stuff. He got a tropical water lilly today and some koi and went over to Pattie's house and tried to wipe her plants out, lol. He left with quite a few more than she was giving him for his birthday, lol. He is so funny, lol. He never made it to get his hair cut today. I think he chickened out, lol. Oh well. It will be that much longer to donate when he is ready to do it.

Sending Birthday Wishes for John, I wish he wouldn't get his hair cut! All men should keep long hair, they keep much better nature if you ask me. I think some just get more defiant just to keep their hair long. The older baldies are just jealous or envious and make the younger males cut theirs off.

Through countless generations men have always had their hair long, why now in the last few generations are they expecting short hair on men...Good God, I want to know.

Well, Happy Birthday either way John. ;)

Jim that card is so cool. John said tell you all thank you and he is honored to be included in our group. We can't catch the dog to leave to go to the lake, lol. She thinks we are gonna leave her home and decided a game of chase in the backyard would be nice. Whoops he just got her. Gotta run, lol. Bye til tonight.
