lime tree question...help!

Hello, I am new to this forum (and gardening). I'm impressed with all the great advice so I decided to join. My wife and I purchased a lime tree last year from a local nursery. It gave us a few dwarf-sized limes and that was it. It's leaves became somewhat sparse and many of the remaining ones had a white film on the top. We live in Texas (zone 9 I think) and brought the tree indoors over the winter periodically to avoid any freezing temps. This year it put some flowers out but nothing has grown out yet. We had what looked like the beginiings of fruit but they turned brown and fell off. Do you stop watering when fruit starts coming? Fertilize? Any suggestions?

I know that well drained soil is paramount and that it needs good water but it does not want to be wet all the time. I was watering every 2-3 days. I had planted it with miracle grow potting soil and a little sand.

Also, how big should I expect the fruit to get? Should I expect what I see in the local supermarket?

Thanks for any advice!
