Michelle from the nursery just called. She said she has no idea what flower I'm even talking about and am I sure I bought it at her nursery (!). Yes, I did - both times. She went on to say that she buys those perennials from some company and sells them and doesn't really remember what she ordered in the Spring. When I told her I could only find two tags, she said that company probably would want to see the plant anyhow not just tags. Well, I told her they've been planted for several weeks now. In the end, she said I could come in and pick out some plants in exchange if I wished; but she wasn't taking the blame for the mistake and will call the company to let them know. "Unfortunately, things like this happen". And of course all the pots of the flowers were gone so she couldn't verify what I told her. Oh, well. Next year maybe I'll find what I originally wanted somewhere else.

I really appreciate all the replies, guys. So far, possibilities are Francee, Moonlight, and Frosted Jade. I think Moonlight is more yellow than what I have. And it seems like I won't know if it's Frosted Jade till it matures more and gets a tightly rippled edge (or not). Thanks, Les, for chirping in. For comparison, here is Francee's leaf size (6 in.): And vein count, I count 8 on the left side and 7 on the right, but I'm not sure: If my 'Francee' ends up not being 'Francee' I'm going to give up any hope of correctly labeling all my green and whiteys!

'Mrs N Thompson' is my favorite because of those colors. It's just luscious. There are several common cultivars that have that red-central-bar-on-pink/lavender color scheme. To my eye, 'Dr Ruppel' is the brightest of the bunch, with deeper colors. My pic doesn't accurately reflect that very well, due to the lighting conditions. There's another one called 'Bee's Jubilee' that looks a bit lighter overall. And then the old standby 'Nelly Moser', which is a bit lighter still. So Ann, you may well have Nelly. Don't judge by my picture! I haven't had wilt on Will Goodwin, but I can't keep a Henryi wilt-free for love or money. So my white clematis is 'Miss Bateman', which is wilt resistant. Marty

Vee -- My dad used to have a very good policy about mobile phones. He sid they were there for YOUR convenience and not for the convenience of the caller. He never used to have one and now he's inseparable from his phone. I usually check to see who is calling -- if I recognize who it is and if it looks like it might be important, I MAY answer it. If I don't recognize it, I don't answer it. After all, if they REALLY need to talk to me, they'll leave a voicemail message and I can call them back at my leisure. Yes, it can get bad here in Canada for that. It's fairly common for people to answer mobiles in restaurants in the middle of a meal. What's worse are those who have Blackberries -- they CONSTANTLY read email while they're having lunch with you or when they're talking to you!! Some have even RESPONDED to email in the middle of a meal or a conversation! One of my colleagues wanted to get a Blackberry. I dissuaded her from this, saying that she should only get one if she wants her life controlled by email. There's a reason why these things have been nicknamed the "Crackberry". It's like Pavlov's dogs -- someone's Blackberry beeps or vibrates and that person HAS to check it.
