Use Sedum CRassula, sm headed Echevieria, and plants with pencil size stems. I have a hundred wreaths to my credit at this time. It take about 200 cuttings per 14" wreath. I use Crassula ovata for the inside ring of plants as well as the outside ring. I start out with an uneven about of Echevieria on the top and fill in with misc. left overs. My filler is Crassula pubescense radicans (red) and Crassuls pubescens v. pubescens gray.
some dark pink or maroon sedum, Blue SEdum. Perhaps blue Senecio, depending on the color theme I want to achieve. I have found that all wreaths must be watered laying flat on top of plastic nursery flat. I also fertolize them. When they get leggy, I just tim them a little at a time so they are always presentable. Plants grow and must be trimmed to look tidy, if you livein a cool climate Semps would work fine if you are prepaired to take the time picking out the dead leaves underneath the green leaves.
