4 Cute Little Guys

Top left: I have no clue, but it reminds me of a sea cucumber, so I let it stay when it leapt into my buggy at the store.

Top right: Mammillaria mammillaris? If not, a Coryphantha sulcata? Echinocactus grusonii? Ferocactus glaucescens?

Bottom left: the label says Echinocereus rigidissimus rubrispinous, and looking at photos, I think that's accurate. If so, this is a true cactus & likes slightly acidic, gritty, FAST draining soil, which I should keep in mind if I put it in a pot with anything else. It did get caught in a downpour yesterday, so I fear it may not survive.

Bottom right: No idea. Maybe a Mammillaria or another Echinocereus? I'll post a side-on shot as well.

As far as I can tell, these 4 are all actual cacti.

I cannot figure out why my photos are on their sides, so--to keep from annoying you all--I won't post any more pictures until I've resolved the problem. Sorry for the wonky pics!

here they are, save it first on desktop & rotate where you want it...(maybe there is simpler way, but that's what I do).

I have no idea about names, but they look nice, especially the 'pink' one - is it going to bloom?

Sigh. Well, that's pretty typical. We saw and purchased this house in very early spring, when it looked lush, but not much was identifiable. We've since discovered that 90% of what the previous owners planted is invasive. I thought this one would be okay, but I should have known better! Right now it's doing battle with mint, lamium, and ivy, so that's probably why it's not spreading more. Thanks!

Congradulations Diane!!! He may be little but he'll have the impact of a tornado in no time...lol He looks as healthy as they come, so bright eyed. Ah! Thanks for the help all. I'm pretty sure now that it is a Conophytum bilobum, I just needed the nudge in the right direction toward identifying this baby. Ah and they are so pretty when they flower, kinda like yellow sparklers :) thanks to you especially, hanzrobo, you were right

Thanks Rina for doing that.I have a hard time really seeing things when they are sideways or upside down.

Arie ,I like the plants also,especially the pinkish one and the one way on the back that looks like it may be a haworthia,the dark green with what looks like white stripes.

I imagine if I can refrain from killing it long enough, it will bloom. That one, I am fairly certain, is Echinocereus rigidissimus v. rubrispinus.
All of these guys got caught in a downpour yesterday, so I've removed them from their pots to try to help them dry out quickly.

Any ideas on the other IDs?

Oh, yes, the one in the far back is a Haworthia. That's in a group in another thread. It is definitely going to come out of the group it is in, but I don't yet know where it will go yet.

Your red cactus is Echinocactus pectinatus rubrispinus. Be careful with this one in the winter, I've read they're more prone to rot in winter than the average Joe cactus.

The small round one (in your first photo, it is the top right cactus (it's smallest of them all, globular, and rather pointy looking), that's a baby Echinocactus grusonii 'Golden Barrel Cactus' (you can type the name in and see what it'll look like a long time from now, almost looks like a different cactus entirely!)

Hi Ariel! I believe your top-left cactus is Mammillaria polythele inermis. Mine are in bloom at the moment.

Just a tweak on the name Planto gave, as I believe it is a synonym (older name) for Echinocereus rigidissimus v. rubispinus (many times listed with another r in last variety name: rubrispinus -as I have done in the past).

So, the tallish skinny yellow one? It almost looks like a stretched echinocactus, but I don't know if that's possible.
