So we only have 2 days till we can start mailing out our SS packages. Are YOU ready?????

Are the gifts wrapped?

Do you have enough info on your SS?

I think I "might" be.Who knows what else I'll find to suff in there!

If one is sending plants, one better add some extra wrapping if they are being sent to an area where they are getting snow? It's cold out there in some areas already.

I think I have the temperature in my apartment about two degrees lower than I did last summer and my butterflies are taking about 11 days to eclose. Last year 9 days was the average.

I started mine at the beginning of March last year. Plants were 3 to 4 feet tall when I planted at beginning of June. This worked out extremely well for me. Plants flowered fairly quickly, fruit set was very good in the first few weeks. After that time, we had a lot of cold evenings, high humidity, and several period of heatwaves. Fruit set was terrible for 4 to 6 weeks. Everyone who planted 1 to 2 food seedlings at the beginning of June in my area had awful production, because their plants began flowering during the poor weather period. I had masses of tomatoes at the 1.5 foot to 2.5 foot level on my plants, then an almost complete lack of tomatoes for the next 2 feet or so (the sections that flowered during that poor 4 to 6 week period). My wife does not like the jungle of plants in all of our south facing windows, but the tomatoes we get are sure worth it. I would not want plants to be so big that they started setting fruit inside my house (not enough sun inside to support that, I think), but I really believe that having 3 to 4 foot 'seedlings' enhances my production. Unfortunately, I will be on vacation for 8 days in the second weed of March, so will be starting plants on March 17...will need to use bigger pots to ensure that I get them to the size I want by beginning of June.

Such kind words!! Thank you. Rosie, This side of the house is the only access to the back acreage. It will have to remain a way to drive through. Given the swail (swale?) in the land, I do need to put grass seed down to keep this in place. I am into alternative lawns, though. Yarrow is fantastic, in that it's evergreen, likes crappy soil, doesn't need watering, spreads via runner and seed, and if you don't let it flower, it remains feathery soft. I have a pound of yarrow seed mixed in with my grass seed, so that'll go down tomorrow. Peaceful Gardens (.com) sells this by the pound. I didn't know about the garlic oil, lascatx. I will look for some of this for other areas of the yard. Right now, I'm looking forward to the June fireflies! Finestra, I live in Open Space. i.e. it's zoned against development. My road is 1.5 lanes wide and curvy, and cannot handle this church traffic. The microphoned services on Wed, Thurs nights, Saturday and Sunday are resonating between the very far-spaced houses. How he's doing this, I don't know. I just know he lied to my face and kharma will deal with him in some lifetime, if not this. I don't know what I've done for anyone else. I feel so isolated and home/house-centric that I don't even feel socialized. I guess I've done some good teaching maybe? OTOH, it's interesting how the universe will put you one place at the right moment to have a conversation that has meaning for someone. I've experienced both sides of this, and firmly believe right-time-right-place is not coincidental. All that said, Who the heck knows? All I know is that tomorrow hopefully I'm buying a mower (mine exploded into parts all over the yard last July) and then I'm coming home to put down my seeds. :) YEAH! I'm calling the PO in the a.m. I've heard that they will be open on the 4th,but closed on the 11th.Will find out for sure tomorrow before I pack up the greenery. Do we send our confimation # to Kylie,so that she knows it was mailed out?

Post office lady said they will be open & mail will still be delivered tomorrow. So my box flew out today! SOMEONE should be getting a box on Wed. Could it be YOU???

I'm still working on a project and waiting on some things to arrive. After that I can put the box together and get it out. My SS will hate me but it probably won't get out until next week :-( But I am having fun with it.

I am still waiting on some stuff too. I prob won't get mine out till this weekend or early next week...so don't feel bad lol! I might have to send mine out in two separate boxes so some things don't get smashed..still figuring it out. I am not as organized as last year.

I'm determined mine is going out on Wednesday. I may not have everything I wanted to send, but at least I know I have alot of stuff my person really wants. Its always hard to find things this early, that are Christmas. I am just going to go with the flow. Barbra

I'm not quite ready yet. Mine will be going out next week. Next Tuesday is a holiday so not sure which day would be the best to ship... hmmmm... Wonder if they'll still be moving mail on Tuesday but just not delivering?

I got my box mailed out today, I had it all packed and forgot the address at home, I called Kylie for 5 hours straight. She was always on the line. I finally drove home and got it. I also send out the Mountain Laurel seeds for Mike, and Debbie, no one else sent me their address. Barbra,

I have all my stuff gathered and picked out and had to send two boxes, lol. One will leave Thurday, not sure when the best day will be if the post office is going to have a day off next week. I need to dig and mail some things the same day or they might not make the trip. My secret santa person is getting gifts from both me and John. I knew I should have put his name in the darn thing. Lol. Noooow he wants to participate. He is having fun.
