Unusual hybrids of citrus

I have a eureka lemon, thompson red grapefruit, and key lime tree. All three are currently beginning to put out flowers, although the key lime is running behind. Any day now, the lemon and grapefruit will open some flowers.

Does anyone know about the consequences of any of these hybridizing? They are close to each other in my yard, so I assume that at least a couple of them will happen on their own. But I was hoping to try to make a couple of them happen on purpose just to see what I would get.

Anyone know anything about these combinations?

Cross pollination won't affect the fruit on these trees at all, if that's a concern. It will only affect the next generation, if you were to plant the seeds. And since all three varieties are highly nucellar, few to none of the seedlings grown from their seeds would be hybrids either. On the rare occasion that you did get a seed with a sexually produced embryo, the hybrid would likely be intermediate between the two parents. You're most likely to get such a seedling from the lemon, less likely from the grapefruit, and it's exceedingly unlikely from the lime, which virtually never makes a hybrid seedling.

Thanks for that chart jocelynpei. I've recently read even experts don't know if Juglans cinerea and Juglans nigra can hybridize. It's not Japanese Heartnut since it has a bumpy husk like black walnut, Japanese Heartnut has a smooth husk I believe. And the longer point is at the base, the longer side on this one is at the top. That's interesting conifer50, because I've never seen any walnuts besides this one that has a lemon shape. Every single one I've seen over many years here have a perfect round shape besides this one. Are you sure you weren't seeing immature walnuts, butternut trees, or Pecan trees? Because I think all normal walnuts have a lemon shape when immature and small in the spring/summer time. Danny, I believe Eric lives in Georgia, which is a quarantined state for citrus, for both the ACD and Citrus Greening. You CANNOT mail citrus seeds to eric. You may get a nasty little visit from the USDA. Please do not offer this to folks in quarantined states, or if YOU live in a quarantined state, you absolutely cannot send any citrus materials of any kind - seeds, scion wood, fruit, leaves, etc. out of state or possibly even out of your county or area of county. Some very cold hardy citrus hybrids

In case you're wondering, Yuzu can survive a cold winter in the Seattle area unprotected, but suffers some damage. The tree will be able to keep some of its leaves, maybe about half, depending on if it is located in a warm spot. It won't start growing until about the very end of May. Seattle is pretty far north in latitude but only zone 8a, so the winter temperatures don't get too extremely cold, though the winters are long (almost feels like half the year). My little Yuzu tree was completely blanketed in snow. A Yuzu-Clementine hybrid managed to survive but suffered some substantial damage and has still not managed to leaf out. It only managed to send out a tiny little single deformed leaflet after July 4, which doesn't look very well right now. The parts of the little tree which are not dead and grey have now turned a healthy live green color, it's just no leaves.
