Japanese Maple Hurt by Late Freeze

I have two rather large (18') japanese maples in the front yard. They were hurt by the late freeze we had this year. The leaves had just started coming out when it hit, and several of the leaves, especially on the upper branches, were killed by the frost. While I would say 90% of the leaves are healthy, I am wondering if I should prune the dead ones off and get new growth or just leave them alone? I am hesitant to do anything, as I don't want to further hurt them, however, the dead leaves are quite noticable.

Thanks
