Transplanting potted meyer lemon and kumquat into the ground

It's time to transplant our meyer lemon from a large pot into the ground. Last spring, we planted it in a modified 5-1-1 mix using small orchid bark, peat, and perlite.

Our native soil is clay, and our house is on a former citrus grove and citrus still grows abundantly in our area. Can we add some of the mix to the hole, or should we plant it in just the clay? I would like to re-use the mix for other plants if I can, but want to give the meyer the best possible start in our soil.
