OK so thanks to someone on the 'name that plant' forum, my first unknown is Abutilon theophrastii. In the Mallow family. Supposedly the flowers smell fruity...gonna have to sniff it n see.

Second one is wild Impatiens/Jewelweed. I always thought jewelweed was blueish purple.

I can't help with any IDs but how cool to find a Dat growing in the wild! Everything looks nice, I really like the canna.

Everything is so pretty and I want your pond! I think that pink lily is a Candy lily. I love lisianthus but have given up growing them from seed. I get poor germination or scraggly plants. I cheat now and buy them in 4" pots. lol That morning glory tree is too cool looking. If you get any seeds can you save me a couple : ) How do you tell the difference between the Northern and Southern Green Leopard frog? Do they have different markings or is it just where they live?

Karyn, I don't think they are candy lilies..I got them with a batch of seeds that were all supposed to be orange leopard/blackberry lilies. They look exactly the same as the orange ones in every way except the color. I like the pink better :)
My Lisianthus was started from seed, but they are scraggly. ABout 12-14" tall, but after Hannah, they are all laying on their sides, I didnt bother staking them, at least they are growing 'up' again though. I only got 3 from about 20 seeds.
If I get seeds from the MG Tree, I will def save you some.
As for the frogs, actually thats a northern green frog, I would love to find a leopard frog though. The dif between the southern and northern leopard frogs, is only a few..1st is the tympanic membrane (the 'eardrum'): the southern Leopard frog has a light marking in the middle of the membrane. 2nd, Southern ones have less side markings and the spots are smaller. 3rd, Southern's head is more pointed than the northern's. 4th is location, You and I only have the southern leopard frogs.

When I finish with the rocks, I will post another pond pic. I can't wait for that waterfall to be done. So sick of seeing the black liner!

Yes Jewelweed is orange. I have it all over my year. Very easy to pull but I like it. Also called Touch-Me-Not because the seeds will shoot several feet if you just brush against them. Lots of fun for the kids (young & old). Wait until they ripen & have some fun.

That yellow NOID looks like a weed that gets those annoying hitchhikers on it. They can get huge here. Does it have fuzzy leaves?

Hope you found some more things in the woods and rocks so you can work on your pond. I looked at Kristy's pond today and it will not be long when I got to have one too lol

So..who knows what the heck I have since candly lily is a hybrid cross of Blackberry/Leopard lilies, and Vesper Iris (which I had never even heard of till now, lol)

Also, I took a look at all my pix of these, and seems they start out bright orange, and as they age turn pink..why I never noticed this I don't know. I didnt find any info yet on which does that..or if both do that. That may or may not be the deciding factor. I wish I had paid closer attention to them. If anymore open up I sure will. I have a nice size clump, all started from seed over the winter and have only had 3 bloom spikes (whatever they're called, i can't think right now, lol) so far..hopefully I'll have one more to study them closer.

LOL Linda, ..yes it has fuzzy leaves..and, yeah it does get those hitch-hikers..I think it didnt take the transplant well, so if it dies, it dies. Pretty lil yellow flowers, but no biggie if it croaks. I was covered in hitch-hikers yesterday from the lake, and didnt even notice it. DH noticed after I got them all over the backseat of my truck buckling in the 4 yr old. Took forever to get them off of myself and the blankets I have on the backseats.

I wonder if jewelweed seeds are poisonous to fish? I have it planted right next to my pond. Have to find that out.

I'm trying to fix Hannah's damage, but most is not repairable. just rigged for the rest of the season. Dahlias just look like hell. I wound up cutting most of them down where they broke. Hopefully I'll still get some blooms, and hopefully no borers or any other bugs will decide to travel down the cut stems to the bulbs..I have nothing to seal them with.

I can't wait for more brug blooms!!!!! I'm jonesin' here!!

Daniella, I don't know what any of them are but I wish I had woods here to find such pretty things, lol. Had to make do with pinching seeds at the nursery, lol. Actually they don't care if you take seeds from the dispay gardens as long as you buy something as well. I got some blackberry lilly seeds today. I wonder if I just drop them to the ground if they will sprout or should I wait til they dry out? The pod was open so I assume they were ready to fall of their own. I got several other kinds of seeds too but don't remember already what they were. Sorry you got so much damage from Hannah. The pond looks great. I wish I could have done the liner but I have all these preformed ones so gotta use what I have for now. I caught some of the mosquitoe fish from the little pond and put in the big one this evening. I know what you mean about more rocks. I didn't have nearly enough dirt or rocks but at least the big one is in the ground. I moved my two water lillies in there this evening and the water hyacinth. I have a little solar powered fountain but it doesn't work very well. I have to get power run out there soon. The canna looks great.

Wow Daniella, that's really interesting about the frogs. I don't think I have either one. See that little white spot on the Northern map? That's about where I am located. I never get any frogs to visit my pond.

I was thinking the Jewelweed looked like an impatien of some type. I rubbed against Balfouri Impatiens today and the seeds shot everywhere!LOL

Kristy, does the fountain get enough sun? Maybe it needs a new solar battery. I was tempetd to get a solar pump, or fountain..but I don't know anyone personally who has one to ask how well they work..well, now I do, I guess they don't work too well, lol. I don't know about teh blackberry lily seeds..when I got mine they were dry, but some still had the covering on them, and wrinkly and dried up. I would think if you plant the seeds while wet, they might get moldy? I wish I could help..I have been wondering the same thing myself since I have seed pods on mine I am waiting on.

Theresa, you have to get out there and relocate some to your pond from somewhere nearby, lol. You may not have leopard frogs, but you have other frogs around. You just have to find them. Bet Lex wouldn't mind frog huntin for ya!

Daniella, Child from hell. That's funny (but probably not to you). We kept my 10 year old grandson for 2 weeks last summer. He is definitely a child from hell. The first day he snuck into the basement & opened over a dozen cans of cat food & fed it to them & the dogs. We usually feed dry food & the bag of cans was intended for the shelter. What happens when you suddenly change the pets food like that? They all had diarrhea from one end of the house to the other (which is how I found out he had fed them). Poor things were squirting when they walked. I could have killed him & you could probably hear me screaming 3 states away. I threatened to not even let his parents drive him past my house in the future. He was pretty upset too because they had already told him if I couldn't stand to keep him, they were going to put him in foster care. After I got done yelling, he was a perfect angel the rest of the visit. After he went home, we found out no one else has kept him more than 2 days. I'm too nice.

Karyn, You should go for it, what are you thinking of? I have a silver dollar sized tat on my ankle that matches the one on my husband's arm. It is a red heart with flames coming off the top & a blue ribbon with our names on each other's. DH says it looks like 808 instead of BOB & he says that's the number of guys I slept with before I married him. LOL If you're out in the sun a lot, they will fade & need re-colored after a few years. Nothing says love like having someone's name permanently embedded in your flesh (grin).

lmao..OK, before I post a pic of my frog tat, you have to first understand, that I had a child after I got it, and that skin just aint as firm as it used to be, lol.
ALso it's not very good. The guy was supposed to do a red eyed tree frog, and instead gave me a red eye-lidded wall-eyed green frog, lmao. I was going to go back and have him fix it, but I figured what the hell, it's a freaky mutant frog, and I'm a weird chick so I'll keep it how it is. Live and learn, you get what you pay for & NEVER get a tat at 1 am from a guy who has been drinking!!!!! I have the child from hell and it's 24/7/365!! Right now he's walking around with a gigantic shiner and no I didn't give it to him. Bruce was doing some work on the computer last Fri and I heard him yelling at Kyle to cut it out for about a half hour from downstairs. All of a sudden I heard DH yell like he was freaking out and he comes running up the stairs with Kyle in his arms. Kyle kept jumping on a little drum and it finally broke and he hit his eye on the corner of a desk. It immediately ballooned and turned blue. We were both a bit freaked out but after making sure that he was ok we started yelling at him for jumping. His eye is now a lovely shade of black/blue and green. I was joking around with Bruce and said maybe I should send a note to school saying that we didn't beat him up. I was at a Dr's appointment and got a call from his school asking me what happened!!!!!!Evidently when his teacher asked him about it he became very evasive. I told her what happened and that he was probably too embarrassed to tell her how he did it because he had been misbehaving. The woman sitting next to me in the waiting area and I had been chatting and I told her what had happened. It turns out that she's a school nurse in a neighboring county and she said they'll always call the parent or guardian when they see something like that with a small child. I guess better safe then sorry but I can't believe that someone would think DH or I would punch our child.

Maybe I'll reconsider the tat for my 46th bday. lol Like Daniella said though skin loses elasticity and it might end up looking like something completely different in 10 years. Besides that I'm in the sun constantly during warm weather.

I tried to take more pix of the newer MG Tree blooms today, as there are quite a few, but it's too tall now. I tried to reach my arms over my head, and take blind shots, but it didnt work out too well, was still too tall, and it's not in an area where I can put something to stand on.

Speaking of kids and black eyes, one year we were getting ready to go on vacation to Yellowstone and I was sitting on the floor talking on a cordless phone that had an anttenae thing sticking out. My son who was 5 at the time kept running around me in circles. He accidently got to close and caught the antennae and the phone popped me in the eye. I had a huge shiner during our whole vacation and people kept giving dh strange looks LOL! One lady even gave me a card for a women's shelter lmao..
Karyn, I did a practicum in community health at a school one year and yeah they do call the parents just as a formality. I wouldn't worry about it.
My best friend and I were gonna get matching tats when we graduated college but then she chickened out at the last minute! My dd drew me a nice tiny brugmansia flower with a hummingbird that I am gonna get put on my back bra strap line some day lol.

Hope all the boys with their injuries are getting better. Yes they will always call and sometimes if the child acts funny they will really make your life miserable. You would think that boys never have accidents they way some of them can act. I was always at the school for some bruise or another with my two and they usually did it to each other, lol. They fought all the time and still don't get along. John says his oldest boy was always good. He said when they went to someones house they could have a box of toys right in front of them and they wouldn't move from where he told them to sit unless he told them it was ok even if the other person told them it was ok to play. I told him thats because he trains us all like the dogs, lol. He makes you want to mind him, lol. I often wonder if my boys would have been different if I had met him sooner. It has surely helped with my daughter. She acts very different around him than she does with her father and he will do anything in the world to please him. I thought he was going to faint when he heard her back talk her father on the phone once, lol. He just expects you to behave and thats it they do it, lol. Even my boys don't act up in front of him. His younger son got arrested once and sat in jail 3 days and wouldn't call and tell him until his brother found out and called us, lol. He would have stayed there forever rather than tell his father he got in trouble. He gets this look on his face and it makes you stand up straighter, lol.

Man, I wish I had that affect on my kids. I may have to rent John from you for awhile, lol

Lol, he hasn't had any little ones around in a while. The one visiting now doesn't understand English and he even understands that look John gives him and I have taught him "HOT", lol. He knows the grill is hot so I tell him the plants are hot too, lol. Isn't that mean. I don't think I ever answered you about the solar light. I bought it new a few months ago when I bought the solar frog but was waiting to put the pond in before I tried it. It should be working since the pond gets direct sun til late afternoon but its not. Its sucky. I wish I had saved the box I would have taken it back. When it works at all the water barely trickled out.
