Hello Everyone!! Averil...LOL... I'm green with envy that you live in the UK. I have viisited there with my DH and loved every minute.. YOU are very lucky!! I will say that when i came home , i missed how polite everyone was in the UK. Believe me, i work with the general public and i see lots of things.. I miss how people really pay attention and are kind. Truly, i was so impressed. You have a beautifull collection too!! Hi Chuy!! I really don't remove any roots on most of the DR's and Adeniums. They all have such beautiful roots that i leave them most of the time. If i did see any that looked brown or mushy, then i would cut them away from the caudex. Most of the time i just leave them alone after i remove the soil. No need to trim, unless you have some roots that don't look good ( like on the side of the caudex..) Next week will warm up and i will start that process.. I'm excited for you!!! ;-) Thank you Emily.. I love to take good care of the DR's and Plumies!! I love to tend to my trees and water them when i get home from work.. That is my "Calgon" moment!! I actually will inspect them Plumeria for inflos when i get home in the dark with a flashlight. LOL.. I know.. it is bad!!! Our pool has been in our yard for 30 years. WOW!! I feel old. ;-) We do use it quite alot durinng the summer, especilly during the months of June, JUly and August. The temps can reach triple digits and the only relief is to jump in. The water temp can get hot tho. My DH thinks it is like bath water during the heat of the summer, but i like it warm verses to cold. When i take pics.. i like to use the cover so you can see the true tree. It gives my pics a background so we can see what i am trying to show.. I would love to have a Koi pond.. Lucky Lady!!! I could imagine a fountain with Koi.. so peaceful. Jill, that boy looks like he's been eating well! Hopefully sluggoriffic feasts! I have em here too and I try to let them go at it. It just freaks me out a bit tho if I'm digging a hole in the spring and I come across a very sluggish sleepy one and I'm thinking I'm touchin dirt. ewwwww Your plants look great! Katie, I have mixed feelings about the sub. Yes, it's so impressive to see. The doors feel like they should be on a bank vault. When you open the door at night, the lighting is so bright and white(I'm waiting to hear the "angel choir" sound :)). But then I think about just how expensive they are and then I feel a little silly. We also bought a full size fridge and full size freezer by frigidiaire commercial series, which we put in the basement. They look and work great, but without the bells and whistles of the sub and not as quiet. But they cost together a fraction of the sub's price. Downsy- thanks. I originally wanted a dark stain on Cherry, but my wife pushed for this finish and I'm glad she did. Yes, the granite is baltic brown. We had our heart set on this from the beginning(the fact that it was a lower tier didn't hurt, either!) The pictures don't really show how well it goes with the cabinet. The colors match the cabinet such that it makes the glaze "pop." We're so pleased with the result. misstaceyh-Thanks, we weren't going to go thru with running the lights to the island, but thank God my brother is an electrician, or else it wouldn't have happened... He spent many hours doing the lighting after closing, which made it more difficult.

Julia, I am a firm believer that temperature does make a difference in picture color, and also the time of day when the picture was taken, and then weather conditions and lots of other variables. Then, there's the camera. I know that some of the colors of the daylilies I post look different than what I see because the camera just won't put out the "true" color. Back when I was using Photobucket to post pictures, I would sometimes do the color editing to try to make the flower color look more of what I thought it should be. A couple of daylilies that come to mind that I "photoshopped" were Hot Ember and Persian Market. They never looked the same posted on websites, as they did in the garden. Now everything I have posted here comes without any kind of color adjustment. I usually will just say the color is different since my camera can't capture the color I think it should be.
